You guys think I can fit 33x12.5x17 on a 3" lift with little spacers? I currently have a 3" lift with 285/75/17s and they are so close to rubbing the control arms but they don't and I know they are at least in inch narrower than the 33s

I'm trying to decide between Spidertrax 1.25" vs 1.5" for my 1999 Tacoma. The plan is to run 285s on 16x7 stock steelies that i found for cheap from a 04 tacoma but they have 15mm offsets hence I need some spacers to clear the UCAs. I have bilstein 5100s all around w/ AAL in the rear (2.5" front/2" rear).

I think the 1.25" WHS007 would do the job but why does Spidertrax only list the 1.5" WHS005 (http://www.spidertrax.com/products/1995-2000-Tacoma-4WD) as the only option for 1995-2000? I thought both types are hub centric and are interchangeable for all first gens?

PS: I called spydertraxx but didn't get a clear answer so Im hoping someone could tell me to save me some hassle of buying and returning. Thank you in advance

    A. Spydertrax will work no problem and the hub bore is the same from 95.5-present on all Tacomas, T100's, and 4runners and 1st gen Tundras and Sequoias.

    B. Hard to say but I'd imagine it would clear the UCA.

    C. You should use these extended lug nuts or ones like this at least up front with the shorter amount of wheel stud sticking out from the rotor.

I have almost the same setup and have 1.5" on one side and 1.25" on the other. I was able to get these ordered from https://www.motorsport-tech.com/bora.html

Thanks for quick response and the link. The same hub bore is I was trying to explain to the sales rep over the phone but he kept insisting that "If that part WHS007 fits your 1999 tacoma then we would've listed under that option!" So I just resorted to TW for better expertise lol. I'm gonna run the 1.25" until I save up enough for some wheels with proper backspacing

I can only speculate that the reason why they only list the WHS005 for 1995-2000 is due to the longer stud lengths but not too sure other than that

yes, it is possible that you may have to cut the wheel studs for 1-1.25" spacers if I recall correctly

Most pre 2000 Tacoma’s have manual locking hubs, and the hub centric section of the spacer will not fit around the hub. I believe that is why they do not recommend them.

    I've not really been able to find my answer looking around so I'll start by asking here;
Does anyone know if there's a certain size hubcentric spacer that doesn't require either cutting the studs or replacing them with longer ones? I want some I can fit right on with no issues.. but that doesn't seem to exist from what I've seen.

    1.5" spacers require no cutting

Right, but I have read people sayin that they had to replace their studs with longer ones to run the 1.5.

youl need longer studs with any size spacers up front. or atleast you should imo.

I’ve read about issues with smaller spacers causing the studs to hit the wheel though (hence the studs needing to be cut)

not on these. front studs are super short and you barely get any thread engagement on the lug nuts unless you get low profile extended thread versions. but then your just better off getting longer studs. i popped one out and brought to parts store to match up with some slightly longer.

I'm also not quite sure if I'll even need them. My current wheels are +12mm offset and I believe the Enkeis I'm putting on are +15mm, but I haven't been able to confirm that number anywhere. I've only got about 1/2 an inch between my tire and upper control arm as is.

offset isnt what youl be looking at for uca clearance. its backspacing. if your on 35s then youl want them quite a ways out. i run 2.3" backspacing with my 35x12.5s and i still rub frame at full lock

They're basically different measurements for the same thing though. And my tires are about 31.5-32in.
