Hey guys! How’s your day going? I was wondering if anyone knows how difficult and what the cost may be to fix or replace tailgate on 1st gen Tacoma? There are so many tiny dents in this tailgate and not sure how that could be fixed if possible? Thanks!

The tailgate is very easy to remove.

I don't see obvious dents in your photo. The rust on the bottom might need attention.

~$800 for a painted new tailgate shipped to you. ive done it twice from various accidents. inspect the box for dings before signing for it.

Last I checked aftermarket tailgates run over 100$ and genuine run $400. Both unpainted. Emblems hard to find...

Mine rusted out on the bottom like yours is showing signs off. I bought a tailgate at a local salvage yard for ~$50. Replacement took about 30 minutes including removing the old one. One of the easier jobs.

Yeah at first I thought those were the dents in question, before viewing the image full size. Confusing pic.
