    I've searched and can only find stuff for second gen. Anybody running 285/75/17 on a first gen with a 3" lift? Pics?

    @Star-Lord is running 285/75/17s. I know I've seen at least one other. Not a very common size tire and not a lot of people running them.

    Looks nice. Won't need tires for a bit but I was thinking if I could do a skinny 34 maybe I wouldn't have to do "too much" cutting.

    Did you have to cut much? And do they rub with articulation?

    I had to run a 17" x 9" wheel with 4.5" backspacing. No spacers.
    The rear clears fine, replaced a couple bolt heads on the flairs with screw heads and that was done.

    The front needed some trimming at the lower front fender and a lot of bashing of the inner fender with a very large sledge hammer. When the inner plastic kickplate no longer fits, you're close to being done. I did not have to tub but may have been better if I had just for a cleaner look.

    Here is my journey to fitting that size of tire, it spans a few pages.

    Nice. Thanks for the link. I actually found a set of those coopers on the local cracks list (CL) with decent tread and the guy is only asking $150 for the set. I may pick them up to do some mock up stuff and then swing a deal with my dad for my current set up.

    @Star-Lord

    I read through your build page about your tire fitment. Could I ask how much clearance you have on the inner side (frame) at full lock? I've got 17x8.5 fuel wheels and I believe a -6 offset. 4.5 backspace. Just wondering if that cm inwards will make a difference.

    I actually rub at full lock, but it's right at the end of the steering range, so i have never bothered to do anything about it.
    Play with this site a little. The orange outline is mine, the green is yours, it's awfully close.
