Is it me or are there fewer and fewer posts on the 1st gen forum as the years pass? I suppose interest in 20+ year old trucks has to fade at some point leaving only die hard fans.

Straight Kentucky bourbon is my preference. My '04 was my daily driver up until a few years, now just used for the occasional Home Depot or dump run. Runs like the day I drove it off the dealers lot. Still doesn't change the drop-off in posts over the years.

I guess it's to be expected, there are fewer and fewer of these trucks on the road every day and they aren't making any more. Rust, age, and accidents keep sending them to junkyards and it gets harder to find a replacement, so people move on to newer models.

Still sucks, but I'm glad I was able to snag my 03 last fall. Needs some tlc to get it back in it's prime but I'm willing to put in the work. These are great trucks, if you have one take care of it and cherish it.

The newest 1st gens are nearly 20 years old by now. It kind of makes sense that the discussion around them would slow down with time

A few years ago I bought a new Tacoma. After a few days of driving it I realized the first gen was better. Thankfully I never trade anything in.IMG_0812.jpg

I regret selling my '04 every day. I thought buying a new 2015 at the time was the smart thing to do. I wish I could afford another one but values for a well sorted example are getting higher every day. If I wasn't so sentimentally attached to my '91 Toyota 4x4 I might would sell it to raise funds for another first gen Tacoma.

Its fun, but not crazy HP, its the engine that these trucks should have had in the first place, its been in almost a year now, got about 3000 miles on engine and auto trans, truck has 240,000 miles on it. In my opinion if you have the 2.7 and want more power this is the way to go, if you have the 3.4 then SC is probably a better option, but to stay on track with OP, I cut my teeth on this site many years ago and still check it almost everyday but rarely post, the amount of information on this site is incredible and want to see it continue.
