I've owned a 5 lug RC for about a year and a half now and loved every moment of it. Paid 5k with 150,000 miles and reasonable maintenance history and planning on driving it till it blows up or rusts in half. My first year cost of ownership blew my mind away with how affordable these things are to drive, even factoring in repairs, fuel, and the relatively high cost to purchase. No wonder there's such a cult following for them. I always smile when I still see 1st gens on the road (even when I get jealous seeing a V6 extended cab 4WD on the road and wish I had the money to blow on one...). I'll still take the slowest, weakest first gen over anything else at this price point. Even if the forum activities here are slowing down in 1st gen, new people are still coming in :)

Thanks, sorry for late reply, was traveling for work, the grill is from china Ali Express, it’s suppose to mock the later generation TRD grill, no raptor lights for me, the letters came with it, the O is shaped differently than the stock ones. If you type grill in search bar you’ll find the thread on these grills, i submitted pics and info on the thread, i loaded a pic that showed the old grill, kinda like it better.

Thanks! I asked because I ordered pretty much the same grill but it came without the letters. After a week of back and forth they sent me the letters as promised. I think I kind of like the old grill as well. Hey! Question! Do you know if that ‘98 bumper and valance will fit on my ‘97? I like the ‘98 bumper.

I dont know, but there are plenty of people on here who do, you might try search bar, what i do know is the front ends are similar in groups (95.5,96,97) (98,99,00) (2001-2004).

Ok thanks! Hey would buy a 29.99 IAC valve from Amazon or spend the money at auto zone or rock auto for a more expensive one?

I would only buy an OEM (Denso, I think?) IAC valve. It's one of those items that could test to spec, but still cause an issue for some reason.

Still my daily even with everything done to it. Literally just swapped out my steering rack of a Toyota OEM and installed a brand new Magnuson Supercharger. At 300,000 miles, the truck is almost completely brand new with all of the upgrades I've done to it withing the last few years. Getting new tint tomorrow then installing my Northwest Fab EcoCrawler box withing the next month lol.

Any chance you have a diagram of frame dimensions/mounting hole locations?

My bed is pretty rusty so I'm thinking about replacing it. I'd love to design it in cad and build it before taking the old one off to minimize downtime.

Hello Aroma, I actually got the flares sprayed with Line-X when I got the bed-liner sprayed. The guys at Line-X removed and sanded them down before spraying them.

How well does the Line-X adhere to the plastic? I've read that the application process may/could warp the plastic?

I don't hunt but do see quite a few with dog boxes.
Makes sense that they're a good size for around here, tight spaces etc
