I have the wind noise as well on my 12 with 1075 miles ....and I've read on here about everything from the rear sliding window to the weather stripping to the vents and obviously the windshield. Whoever solves this one deserves a gold star.

My concern is about MPG so far for 2012. I've got 2300 miles logged and I'm getting around 17 MPG overall. My 2006 V6 was getting 20.7 MPG overall.

    The known variables:
    1) Understand there is a break in period and mileage will improve
    2) My 06 was running full synthetic and had 90K on odometer
    3) The onset of "winter gas" has probably already started
    4) New emission equipment on 2012 could reduce MPG

What are you getting on the 4.0?

I've been getting about 19 - which is a bit better than my 09 did. But I went from a DC to an AC, and the reduction in weight alone would account for that.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
The mpg will get better as the motor breaks in and loosens up. When I got my 2.7 last April it was new and averaged around 15-18. Now I average about 22 mixed highway and city, but winter mix has already taken over up here (it is 8 degrees) so the gas mileage is gonna drop. Last time I filled up on premium so it will probaby still do good on that stuff

My shark fin doesn't whistle. It plays the "jaws" theme song.

I have the same noise at 40-45. I believe it is the molding around the windshield. I took an automotive style stethoscope and probed around the top of the windshield. I could definitely hear the whistling above my head and down the a pillar (drivers side).

I had this problem also. I started taping up parts of the front end and then driving around until i located the source. It is from the front grill, there is a small gap between the grill (black plastic) and the outer frame. I'm working on a fix.

Incidentally, when i took the problem to toyota they had me drive 2 other brand new ones and they all made the exact same sound. Thus, they would not fix it. They said the truck was factory spec. I told them the whistle was driving me insane, but they didnt care.

The only problem I'm having with my 12 is the cruise on/off button. It takes multiple pushes to get the cruise to turn on or off. Gets annoying. I will take it to the dealer sometime in the next month.

I have had several problems with my 2012 Tacoma (which has 4100 miles)
    *Truck shakes when cold
    *Transmisson Whines
    *Exhaust leak noise
*The dash is cracking & paint is coming off
*The speakers snap loud when volume is high & extreme bass
*The drivers side foot pad to the far left is loose & moves
*The truck "Howls" when letting off the accelerator on the highway
*There is a high pitch "Whistle" when driving... Almost like a digital beep beep beep
*The fenders show crease like indentations and are not high gloss paint like the rest of the truck

I love the truck - but am not happy with the amount of little problems.
    Anyone else notice these things????

Just the whistle. But we fixed it months ago. I would live at my dealership until they fixed all of it.

This is from the sound system being stock. High volume and high bass requires a custom built setup.

I've got 13500 on mine and have had no real issues. I'm getting right at 19mpg. I have not noticed any strange wind noises as mentioned here. I'll turn down the radio and listen for it tomorrow.
