I'm getting my first oil change this Friday with the Dealership.

Anything I need to tell them to check that they will be willing to do other than the normal oil change stuff?

if not already have them check the trans level as this has been a problem carried over from the 2nd gens.

Just to make sure you are not disappointed when you go, how many miles do you have on your truck? Obviously you haven't had it for one year yet, so is this the 6 month service and if so have you arranged oil change? Normally they won't do oil change at 6 month service unless you request it and you may even have to pay for it depending on dealer. Anyway, tranny fluid should be checked.

When i took it for the 6mo/5k service they refused the oil change. Pretty much filled the washer fluid. 1hr wasted for a 2 dollar item.

You're lucky. For the 10k service i went to a different one and they were the ones who didn't grease the u joints. I'm running out of dealerships to go to. I wish we had dwcent ones here.

All U-joints, tranny fluid level... ask to speak with the service manager.

Be polite and ask him to PLEASE lube the u-joints as they were NOT lubed at the factory. If he resists tell him to call Toyota care they know all about it but haven't done a TSB on it...

If he still resists tell him the phone call to Toyota will take more time than it will to lube the u-joints and just please please lube the f-ing truck already sheesh. Tell him you will pay IF they are full - not if they are not filled.

Then ask him if you can watch the tech do the lube. When he keeps hitting the button time after time for each u-joint to add grease, then ask the service mgr if that is normal for a new truck. nuff said... that will be a free service.

If he still resists call Toyota care while standing there in front of him and complain the dealership wont lube my truck.

Here's the reference number for them to bring up: 160326-000140
    and here's the phone number: 1 (800) 331-4331

I lubed my own u-joints, its super easy so...why not. Just took her in for the second service (10k service, oil change etc...) asked em to manually check the transmission fluid(by pulling the check tube plug) they agreed. Also got informed that I have an extra oil change for free (I'll get 3 instead of the two) Something about how the paperwork was screwed up. So got nothing bad to say so far on my dealership.

This is true. I told them I would take care of the tire rotation as I only have 1998 miles on my truck. And I would take care of the windshield washer fluid. My truck does not have grease inserts but they did check the torque on the rear U-bolts. He told me these 2.7's don't use any oil. I said this was good. :)

Did mine yesterday, couldn't believe how many pumps each one took. I know the dealership didn't check any since the tops of the zerk's were still painted black from the factory. o_O

Yeah I did mine when news of this broke on the forum, but the dealers just try to cut every god damn corner. Guy claimed he couldnt get my lugs off, so no tire rotation either.

What was the reasoning for couldn't get lugs off. And if he couldn't get them off he just let you go doing nothing about it. What if you have a flat, how are you supposed to get them off?

Something about my after market wheels. Not sure... Both the sockets at my friends shop and the gigantic harbor freight ones I have removed them. The dealer that I went to for the 5k service rotated them np. I dont even know. I have 1 more free oil change from the dealer and I will never have to see them again.

These dealers are going beyond lazy, not wanting to rotate tires cuz they couldnt get the lug nuts off, what a terrible excuse.
