when I'm ready for a new truck...I look at what a nearby dealer has...I pick one, buy it and drive it home. I really don't stress on such things.

Most of my trucks have been white or silver.

Speedway Blue ... it's a bit bright for my tastes... but 27k miles on a nine-year-old TRD, color was secondary.

I would have preferred to have gotten black or the Blue Ribbon Metallic. I ended up with the Magnetic Gray Metallic. I would have also settled for the Barcelona Red

My first 2nd Gen I settled on the color since it was the only 6 speed on the lot. Second 2nd Gen, after realizing how awful the 6 speed is, I went for the exact truck I wanted including color.

I looked at Carmax and Cars.com for months. Was looking for a Dark Grey/Black/White Truck 4x4 Auto DCSB. I ended up finding Super white Low miles 4x4 DCLB 05 with low miles I couldnt pass up. Happy now I have a LB. I ended up aquiring a 04 4X4 Auto DCSB few months later.

I really wanted a white truck when I was shopping but I was looking for a used truck so I couldn't be too picky. I ended up getting a killer deal on a 1 year old Silver Streak metallic. The color is fine with me and I was still super stoaked because it had all the offroad package which I really wanted but didn't think I'd be able to afford.

My only color preference was to not be black or dark color. I had a black 2000 extended cab SR5 4x4 for 12 years and wanted a lighter color for heat relief. Walked in dealership wanting red white or blue DCSB off road and white is the only color of the 3 they had in stock.

Yes. And I bought used. Sometimes shopping the used world getting what you want can be harder.

Someone buying new should always get what they want.

(wouldn't a poll have been easier for this?)

My wife likes red and my last Taco was red (avatar). Driving company cars for 30+ years I learned that white is the most practical color for Georgia so that is what I wanted. I was trying to decide to get a 15 or the new 16. My favorite dealer had 5 identical white Tacos just like I wanted. Three weeks later they still had 4 of them so I thought I could get a good deal on one of them and I did.

I had 3 requirements when I was shopping
    -manual
    -4x4
    -access cab

Because I wanted manual my options were super limited and furthermore because I was only looking at used trucks. Ended up with a black truck which show off the pin stripes gloriously

When I first started shopping for my new one I wanted blue. Once I found out blue was really hard to find in my area I picked either Gray or Silver. I was going to get the Gray but the more I looked at the picture of the Silver online I was sold on it. Got Silver and I'm happy.

Too bad but black is the absence of color (and is therefore not a color)

My 1st Gen 2 I took what was on the lot (Speedway Blue) and turned out to really like it a lot. My 2nd Gen 2 I ordered exactly what I wanted (Black).

Both mine were Metallic Gray, extended cab, TRD O/R. My '09 was first (PreRunner) and got what I wanted, not what they wanted me to have. My '14 was next (4x4) and it took me a few months searching the entire West Coast (even Denver) before I got a tip from a member here (in my post about how hard it is to find one) and was able to lock it down about 200mi. from my house. I wasn't and had no intention on settling for something I would regret. Well worth the wait. Thanks again to a great forum.

Didn't get my first choice of Pyrite Mica. But the metallic gray was my second choice. Two nearby dealers internet advertised three pyrite mica's with the exact equipment I wanted, but at the end of the day, neither could not produce any of them....made me think "bait & switch"..very aggravating.
The metallic gray from a different dealer was second choice and still got all equipment I wanted.

Yes --to the first question. But I'm not picky as long as it's black or MGM...

I happen to like a Silver truck, and there always seems to be Silver trucks on dealer lots.

When I was shopping around for a taco, I had been to a couple of dealerships and after I had decided I was bucking up for a DCLB, I had only two colours on my mind, indigo ink and spruce mica. I had never even seen a pyrite mica as its a pretty rare colour around where I live. I was walking back into the dealership to sign some papers on an indigo taco when out of the corner of my eye, there was a bronze glimmer. I stopped dead in my tracks and told the salesman to hold the phone while I went to investigate. Ten minutes later I had forgotten all about the other colours and I'm still happy as a clam two years later.
