It's less Tacoma and more mod
Just found one that wasn't an arm and a leg and got it. I knew I was gonna beat the ever living crap out of the paint and body anyway.

I'm not too picky about colors but I prefer gray, white, black, silver, red or white. I settled for gray simply because a local dealership had what I was looking for at the right price. I tend to gravitate towards grays/silvers but I've had all color cars and trucks.

I settled for 2nd choice. Wanted white but got silver streak mica. I could pay $16000 for a white truck with 80000 miles. Or I could pay $14500 for a silver truck with 40000 miles. Everything else was the same... not a hard decision.

I was looking at one that was Indigo Blue, but ended up settling on one that was Sandstone Metallic (Desert Sand Mica). It was for the better because it hides the dirt real good.

I went wanting either a black or white DCSB offroad 4x4. They had both, I watched my dad struggle to keep a black bmw clean for the last few years and opted for white.

I wanted black... I REALLY wanted black... but then I saw MGM and just pulled the trigger without thinking. Great decision, and I'm happy with the color I have. :) :)

Exact same situation with a little nigher price on my side of the country. But hey, if the light hits it just right and you squint a little the SSM almost looks white!

Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
    I hear y'all!

Back in 2008 when shopping for a Tacoma I had a specific color in mind (that I had seen being driven around weeks earlier) and that color was the dark (Indigo) blue mica. I quickly fell in love with but when looking for that particular Tacoma with certain features, etc. the dealership(s) didn't have any available.

I definitely wanted to buy brand new (I never buy someone else's 'used' hand-me-down vehicles). The salesmen would tell me that they could order it for me but it would take a month or so. I didn't want to wait and settled instead for the Desert Sand Mica color which had exactly what I wanted with the exception on the color of course.
Salesmen basically are directed to tell you that it would take months to get what you want on a special order to try to discourage you, so that they can sell what they already have in stock on the dealerships lot.

Still have it and no regrets about purchasing it but still would have wanted that deep dark indigo blue mica color as my first choice.

Also noticed that there are not very many Desert Sand Mica color Tacoma's being driven around out here where I'm at.

Desert Sand Mica-kinda rare color and what is even "more rare" to see is a Tacoma in Desert Sand Color with a "Hood Scoop!

Not like all the other basic colors, Red, Silver, White, etc.

I wanted Speedway blue as my 1st choice. I ended up getting Super White and realized it was the right decision for me and my girl likes white Tacomas lol. My fiberglass bedsides and fenders arent painted and not a 100% match it's really close in color, there's a bunch of scratches from the trails you can't see, touch up paint is easy and not too noticeable, doesn't look as dirty as it is, not as hot. my two previous cars were black. I'm over black lol. I like it when it's clean, but when it gets dirty it looks dirty!

A double cab, off road in magnetic gray was my first choice, and that just happened to be what my dealer was unloading the day I was looking. I would have gladly "settled" for a super white Tacoma. I like Stormtrooper builds!

I drove four new DCSB's - three had a slight steering wheel shake at 60-65 MPH. I bought the one with no shake....color was not as important. I would have liked spruce mica but they no longer make it. Blue streak was second favorite but seeing some used ones on the lot, the scratches really seem to stand out to me and they would have to get it from another dealer. I ended up with silver and really like this particular silver.

Hmmmm, I like the PM color that I got, but maybe I'd get the gray if they'd had one with a 6-speed. The PM and a white one were the only manual trannys that they had, and I didn't want white. *shrug*

I had my heart settled on a F-150. Went to the auto show and saw the Blue Ribbon Tacoma and sat in it. I remember telling my wife that this is the only color Tacoma that would persuade my decision. Decided to consider the Tacoma again. Went to test drive a black one, because I wanted to see what they drove like. Went to my first Toyota dealer and sure enough, a Blue Ribbon was literally just put onto the show room floor. One week later, it was mine. So, yes I got the color that I wanted.

Said I didn't want a white Taco and it's exactly what I ended up with. I like it much better than I thought. However, if I could choose it wouldn't be white.

At first i settled for what was available. Black. What a nightmare black was. Lesson learned, and traded for silver. Much happier.

Had to go to four dealerships, and the last one was able to get me what I wanted by having it made in i believe Tennessee. Barcelona red, with none of the stuff I didn't want, and everything I did want.
