lolz you went from a mickey thompson baja to this tire?

first off what do you plan on doing with this truck? from what i'm gathering it will not be seeing off road very much if at all but if you happen to get snow and stuff you want a tire thats not going to leave you stranded on the side of the road either.

duratracs are a great tire as well as bfg all terrain ko both are proven and do very good in most any situation they are less aggressive than the mickeys that are on the pic you posted and less aggressive than the kumho mud terrain as well. imo i would look into these tires as they offer a pretty decent ride on the street and you will still have capability to do pretty much what ever. i'm not sure about the sizes your looking at however.

btw did you look into any of the wheels i had mentioned before walker evans makes a bad ass wheel brother it's completely in the opposite direction that your looking at with the 20 inchers but, they are extremely well made! also the price is in line with what your looking at now if i had the cash to redo my wheels thats what i would go with omf can customize them as well pretty slick custom powder coat the whole shebang.

No, don't do the 5100's at 2.5, your truck will ride like garbage. Do the research and lift it correctly the first time (ie coils, shocks and UCAs). Just my $.02.

I plan on just driving the truck as an everyday vehicle (use my WS6 as a play toy). I'm still kind of new to the deciding on tires but rims are set in stone. I will get these rims; I'm just trying to decide on a tire and the sizes I can use WITHOUT sinking 2K in suspension alone.

I made it all last winter in a 4-runner that didn’t have mud terrain tires on it so I'm pretty sure any tire will do, as long as I have 4 wheel drive.

I did check out a few of the wheels you mentioned but like I said, I'm dead set on these rims.

Well what about a lift like this?

I got that lift on my 2010 and ended up having to get new UCA's for factory spec alignment, 1-piece Tom Woods drive shaft to eliminate take off shudder, chop the cab mounts to get rid of frame rub, and a lot of trimming of the plastic to get rid of MOST of the rubbing. Can't remember the exact size of my tires but I think they are 32" with 18" rims. I have a few pictures in my profile.

Geez, that sounds like a lot of work =/

Do you know for sure if the tires were/are 32"?

Lol lifting is far from problem free for most..

And wait, your perfectly fine with droppin 3k on wheels tires..

but want to skimp out on the suspension?

even if it is a street truck and it never offroads which tons of people do, you will regret it because it will be super uncomfortable, gotta think about ride quality.

and no don't get whats in that link.

Oh have you considered calling the manufuacturer of the wheels and requesting a custom set?
it may be more expensive but since you like the wheels so much it would be worth it because a smaller wheel size would make everything else much easier!

I'm not making this truck into a big muddin' truck, just want some nice rims (these) and a tire that will work with them to NOT have to spend any more money than I have to on it. I am perfectly fine spending 3K on rims and tires, not fine with spending 2K more JUST to have them.

Hell the more I read the more waste of time and money it seems.

yes the wheels are P265/70R18 Nitto Terra Grappler - nice tires about 200 a pop with the KMC XD Hoss Machined 18x9 wheels. 32.64" diameter. Added Light Racing UCA's to get the caster under control

If you're dead set on those Dubs get a 6" drop bracket lift and some 35/12.5/20 All terrain Tires. IMO, Those rims with 32 inch tires are gonna look ghey as fuck.

Right back to a grand or more for suspension. I'm not sinking that much in a suspension when the only purpose to do that would be to run 35" tires at which I am not interested in. Right now I am leaning towards the 32" Nitto's so maybe around Christmas I'll post some pictures of my "ghey as fuck" truck.

As an added bonus the Nitto's on my truck make very little road noise over the stock tires. I got the wife stamp approval on that one ;)
