Hello everyone, just registered on this forum and also just got back from Tampa area dealership after purchasing a 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro (Cement/Black). I was reading some of the other threads and there seems to be some interest in what people are paying, etc., so I thought I would chime in.

Incidentally, no photos to post yet because dealer won't have truck until ~ 9/10/16, but due to demand they required a deposit in order to secure the vehicle and obtain an order receipt. I had first emailed the salesman back in March and to his credit he contacted me the second they got the info on the truck they are getting.

    Base Specs
2017 Tacoma TRD Pro Automatic 6-spd
    Ext: Cement
    Int: Black

    Base Price: $42,760.00

    Options Installed
    Cargo Bed LED lights: $269
Clear Paint Protection - Door Package: $199
LED Illumination Package (Int & Ext): $349
    Stealth Black Running Boards: $569
    Tailgate Power Lock: $259
    Toyoguard Platinum: $699

    Total Options: $2,344.00

    Other Fees
Manuf Deliv, Proc & Handling: $950

    Total Price: $46,054.00

They did not try to sell for over MSP, however, they did force my hand on both the Toyoguard Platinum and that $950 delivery fee that is normally easy to get waived. There is no budging on anything. Although I live in FL I will be driving this truck to the Mountain West where I have a place and spend several weeks a year with my wife and friends coming to ski & hike. The dealers out there basically laughed when I asked about getting one because they've been spoken for and the best they could promise was a waiting list.

I wanted the truck for all of my recreational activities out west, so I've either got a long drive or about a $1600 shipping cost eventually.

Thank you in advance for not asking if my anus was sore after leaving the dealership, and how it's too much money for this truck. :) I already know it's too and I could have done without some of the options but it's what I wanted so I ponied-up mucho dinero.

Where the heck do these options come from? Are they Southeast Toyota regional only or whatever that's called?

Yeah what he said... ALL of the LEDs can be found on Amazon ... should have done a bit of research here for all of that. Not banging you OP, should have taken lube with you to do the deal. Then ask the dealer to use the rest of the lube on your drive line! Just sayin...

Welcome and good luck with your truck when you get it. I bought mine for some of the same reasons. In fact I'm sitting at my cottage on a lake in the Canadian wilderness as I type right now - hauled our Kayaks up here and are having a blast... man it's HOT - 35C gotta go swimming... peace out!

Can understand forcing to pay MSRP but how the hell can they force you to buy a vehicle protection plan????

Probably not "forced" more of an "if/then" scenario.

That is Southeast Toyota for you. Every Toyota sold in FL and GA comes with that "Toyoguard" ripoff. There is no way around it, supposedly the dealers still have to pay Jim Moroni (Southeast Toyota) his cut with that "Toyoguard" so they can't take it off, but they can discount the MSRP by that much or more. We had to pay it on all our Toyotas, even though we still paid less than what MSRP was (the MSRP before that Toyoguard and delivery) out the door. Basically you get an extra year of ToyotaCare for that huge price.

PS I hope to see it driving around town.

Hmmm...power tail gate lock accessory. I'll need to get one of those.

    Congrats on your purchase!

Congrats on the new truck, looking at those prices for installed options shows everyone is getting screwed, seriously, they replace the old technology incandescent bulbs with LED and charge you that much is quite frankly highway robbery. Every new vehicle sold today should come stock with LED lighting, better light, less power draw, and last 100 times longer. Better off without that "option" and spend 50 bucks and replace them yourself. How did we end up with 45k Tacomas, it's ridiculous.

First post explains, truck isn't coming in until Sept 10. He merely negotiated and put a deposit down on one
