1st service

Had my 1st oil change/service today on my 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 3.5 6 cyl at 3000 mi.
Auto trans
I wanted to get it in for service a bit early as I am feeling a vibration back through the steering wheel. Problem seems to be torque related to a point, as I can feel it going up through the gears,, but I can also feel it pulsate at a fixed speed in 6th gear .

Service manager took it for a ride, he said it felt normal to him .

After I explained it didn't feel normal to me ,,,that my 2008 didn't do it , the one I test drove before buying this one didn't do it, and my friend's who's almost duplicate of mine didn't do it ,,
he decided to go for a ride with me ,and I was to tell him when I felt the vibration.

Having done so , he though what I was feeling was harmonics through the exhaust system.

Anybody have any thoughts on this ?

Welcome to TW!If possible take it to another Toyota dealership and see what there opinion is!It's a new truck and although i haven't followed much of the issues on the new 3rd gen's you may want to contact Toyota corporate!Good luck!Exhaust harmonics is diareaha of the mouth in my opinion!

 

I guess if I were more familiar with this motor,and the Atkinson principle , I could separate
the BS from the possible.

Good idea though, I have another dealer 45 min away, maybe I'll make an appt.
