My method only lifts one wheel at a time; but, I'm also doing a rear cross rotation...
    I digress...

In addition to the owner's manual, the service manual provides additional jack locations.

I take the left side off... Then gently lower thst side and let it rest on the floor. Do the right side. And then come back and put the lefts on
    Works like a charm

I think the owners manual suggests front to back rotations.

i found a similiar graphic as you posted. so i plan on getting 2 6 ton stands, and will jack the rear up first with the aftermarket jack, place stands under the axles on both sides of the diff, remove jack and raise the front with the center jack point and the aftermarket jack and place stands right where the oem jack would go if i was using it. let me know if there is anything wrong with my plan. i of course will loosen all the lugs first before raising anything.

I assume you have wheel chocks. I put on the brake and jack the front first for an extra measure of safety, and use wheel chocks back there too.

so i suppose i should jack front up first while rears are on ground in park/braked and chocked. Then once front is up, lift rear...

    thanks..,

i got two 6 tons stands over lunch and tested them out. Without loosening the lugs i raised the front first, put them under the frame where the oem jack would go then lowered. all good, then went to the rear and raised the whole rear off the pumpkin. put my 3 tons under there, under the spring perches, and lowered. all good but the drivers side front touched the ground whereas passenger side front was off the ground some. So i will go back out after work tonight, loosen all the lugs and repeat what i did over lunch but this time will raise front a hair more before going to the rear....

Some things should be trusted to the professionals. I am a strong supporter of the DIY crowd, but rotating tires just makes more sense to take it to a shop. Most tire shops will do it for free. 10 minutes and a $10 tip and you are on your way. Much easier than dragging around a floor jack and lugging around jack stands that will you will undoubtedly bust your shin on a few weeks from now because you forgot that they were sitting in the garage.

well, i have shelving for them, so that's not a problem. As far as a "professional" doing things like this:

    1) i have to get in my truck, drive there. now, that ones easy as a good place- as far as i know- is 3 miles away.
    2) i have to wait as they do it- that may mean an hour or more- time i don't really have during the day- i am not retired.
    3) i will check behind them to make sure the lugs are not overtorqued or cross threaded- this has happened to me an more than one occasion.
    4) it costs 20-30$ at least in my area- i am not cheap but see 3 above.
    5) i have a nice large garage.

it's just easier for my head to do myself. i know it's done right. i have the tools. incompetence runs deep in most industries. i am big on safety. the main reason of this thread hovers around safety. i have always done one side at a time and never had issues. but the taco is higher than anything i've ever owned, even the xterra.

until i am too worn out to do myself, i will keep doing myself.

I don't do rotations per say, I swap summers to winters. I lift the front, do both sides, then lift the back and do both.

If I were to do a full rotation I would lift the back by the diff, put stands on the axles, then lift the front.

"Trusted professionals" will often scratch your wheels, overtorque, or forget to torque, your wheels. So no thanks not so much.

The driver side is heavier by default, so I recommend going a little higher than you think you need, lock and count the notches on your driver side stand, then do the same number of notches on your passenger side stand.

    helps me alot.

i will also say, i jacked the front up at an angle meaning the lack was probably at a 45 degree to the front center jack point so that could have caused the one side to be lower. i will move a plastic shelf in front of garage away and see if that matters. the video above mentioned that very thing.

i took my son's 88 mustang gt to AAA car repair once. actually it was towed because of a fuel leak and he was overseas. anyhow, they said it needed tie rods as well. so while there they swapped them out. and did a radiator flush. and replaced some tank hose. was like $1500 total. Well, got it back drove the 10 miles home. next day, took it for a spin and heard a noise. all the lugs on one side were finger tight. rest were ok. their "master" mechanic was the last to touch it and they swore up and down they wouldn't do that. i really doubt someone loosened them in the hood as i didn't have any enemies or whatever. they offered $250 in free labor. we said no thanks. if you can't torque wheels properly, you are not touching my cars.

the radiator juice looked like mud when my son did it 6 months later...

    so they didn't do squat.
    LOL
