I really want a 1up bike rack. I borrowed one once and really like it. Once problem I've found is that when folded up (no bikes), it sits right in front of the backup sensors.

Anyone find a solution to this problem? Maybe using a high clearance hitch or something?

Not my truck, notice how the lower rack sits directly in front of the bumper.

You're not going to work around it, especially if there are bikes on it. I just have to keep my back up sensors disabled so it doesn't beep every time I try backing up. If you have the cross traffic sensors, it doesn't interfere with those.

I'm not worried about the noise when bikes are on it.

I find the sensor useless, it beeps solid when there is still a full foot or more to go. i have the same 1up. Back up against something and use the lines on the screen to better gauge how far you can really back up.

I have a high clearance hitch/extender and it doesn’t make a difference. Folded up or with bikes, the sensors don’t really work still.

I agree the backup camera works better but reversing out of parking spaces really helps to see oncoming drivers that don't want to stop.

I hated this too. Never found a solution. I ended up adding a front rail with Rocky Mounts. You have to take the tire off, but at least the bikes are locked.
