2” Rough Country Level/Spacer Kit

    Putting the 2” Rough Country Leveling Kit on my 2022 Tacoma here soon, wanting to know what’s the biggest size tires I could run with stock rims? Currently have 265/70R16 on it wanting to see about getting 285/75R16. Anybody else done similar or have better recommendations to achieve a bigger size?

    I am concerned you haven’t done your due diligence with respect to planning ahead.

    General consensus around here is the RC two inch leveling kits are junk.

    I would recommend you send those RC spacers back to where ever you ordered them from.

    Ask for a store credit.

    And come up with a more better plan.

    Put some skinnies on it - 255/85/16

    285s would probably rub the upper control arms

    I have done my research, the spacers are just fine for daily drive with no off roading. Would the bilstein 5100 or even the ready lift be a better option yes I don’t disagree with that. Have seen just as many people say they’re fine and have no issues as people saying the same thing you said. But thanks for your two cents buddy

    skinnies are no fun, I want to go as wide and tall as possible without adding spacers or any more than just the spacer leveling kit

    What else is new haha. Your question has been asked a million times on this forum

    It's not that simple. You need to read and research more if you want any kind of ride quality. Those spacers really are going to ride like ass. Stock wheels won't have enough offset to get the wider tires away from the UCA.

    I suggested skinnies because theyll have the best chance of fitting without cutting or too much rubbing

    You're in the right section.. read more of the threads on this topic.

    Everybody new says the same thing as you.. "I've done a bunch of research already" .. but then they're still in here asking the same old question.. "what's the biggest tire I can fit with this or that lift?"

    All these trucks are different. Some people rub with 285s, some people don't. Some people wheel and need suspension travel and clearance.. some people don't.

    I'll say this:
    2" lift is 2" lift.
    As far as tire fitment goes, it does not matter whether it comes from cheap spacer lift pucks, or high-end Fox or King 2.5 race shocks. The tire will still fit (rub) the same (so don't be thinking they will fit any differently than they would on anyone else's 2"-lifted truck).

    285s on stock wheels will rub the UCA. If you want to your keep stock wheels and run 285s, then you'll need ¾ inch or 1 inch wheel spacers.
    You may also need to max out your caster angle to get the tire away from rubbing the back of the fenders.

    Lots of info on this subject... Hopefully that gives you something more to go on.
