I kno this topic had been beat to death but I want a 2.5-3" lift an run 275/70/17
I'm thinking of going bilstein. I basically do zero serious off roading. So what do I need up front? And for the back do I just use a spacer or add a leaf?
I'm just looking for a simple solution. I have a 2011 black trd 4 DCLB.
As of now it has a level kit up front.

If I added a leaf in back right now with my level kit up front I wonder if I could run the 275's now?

Bilstein 5100s all around, fronts set to 0" with OME 881 coils. 3 leaf AALs in the rear with the factory overload spring removed. Should net you a level 2.5".

That's the exact kit I'm having installed next week anyway, I have a first gen though but the same parts for the 2nd gen should give similar results.

If you haven't already, check out Headstrong Offroad's website...you can get a complete kit through them or build your own

Bilstein 5100's with OME 885X coils, have the shock/coils assembled, get the 1/4" drivers side spacer, Deavers 2" AAL, all from Headstrong Off road. $733 shipped to my door about 6 months ago. That gives 2-1/2" lift, which avoids needing new Upper control arms to get alignment in spec. Call Marie if you have any questions. She's DA' BOMB!

Yep. Almost every Tacoma will end up a tic lower on the front drivers side after a lift. (Weight of battery/gas tank) The 1/4" spacer gets you level side to side.....

    1. As a gen 2 Tacoma, the 881 coil is not for you.
    2. With a DCLB you'll want 887 coils with 1/4" spacers on both sides for the desired lift
(I just put 885 coils plus spacers on my Access Cab and got 2.5 inches)
    3. Tacoma lean is not a suspension problem. It's a body mount bushing problem. Don't fix a symptom of one type of problem by altering a different part of the truck. I have experience with this.
    4. Get the OME Dakar Leaf pack instead of blocks for the rear. The truck will perform better on and off road.

I'm happy to help if you have more questions.

Since you're not doing any offroading you can get away with an AAL. A Deaver 1.5" should keep you level up to 3" front lift. Yes Dakar's are great but will be too stiff for just a daily driver. 58Siesta already covered what's needed up front. Once again, go with Headstrong Offroad.
