For those who have removed the overload leaf, why?

And, of those with 2.5" or less lift, did you install the Diff. Drop?

(Have I crapped on the OP's thread? Sorry)

That's why I'm asking, I think 2-2.5 is perfect for my needs. Selling my old truck so planning on using that money to upgrade the tacoma. Thinking Dakars or AALs (until they sag) because I'm also adding a topper.
Spend all my free time in the Trout Creek, Bull River, Noxon area looking for groceries in the fall

Like the adjustability factor especially if I decide to modify in a few years. Will definitely check your build thread. Thanks.

You might check out "general springs HD" leaf pack that's what I have. I Got 2 inches with a empty bed. Probably be perfect with a few hundred pound topper if yor only going 2-2.5" up front

I have an ARB bumper with winch and running Revtek spacer on stock coils. In the back I have air bags and an AAL.

I want to get rid of the Revtek and run the 886's....anyone running 886's? Too stiff with the winch and bumper or is it good to go? How much lift does it give? The airbags can level out any nose height differences.

Guys, Currently im running 5100/Eibach @ 0 for approx 1.5" w/ nothing in the back. Im looking to get an RTT with some light bed bars for summer camping. I dont ever take much stuff so i think I'll likely be around 400to450lb in the back. I'll be taking the tent off in the winter and putting my cover back on.

    I'm considering the following:

    - Boss / 5100 Rear shocks

    - Toytec AAL + Firestone or ride control airlift (1.5-2” lift + ability to go up with the airbags)

    - Bump the 5100 w/ Eibach up from the 0 setting to 0.85. (2.5” total lift), Diff drop?

    https://www.airliftcompany.com/shop/59561/

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Tacoma-05-Rear-Air-Bags_p_302.html

I think it would be nice to be close to level with no weight and then be able to bump it up once I have the tent on.

Do airbags have any negative effects when off-roading? Anybody running this kind of setup?

285/70/16 Nitto trail grapplers, it's an odd size I think only Nitto has it, they're about 31 1/4 tall on the truck with the 285 width.
16x8 method double standards 0 offset.
I've wheeled the shit outta my truck with no major rubbing at all.
I have the icon progressive aal but would recommend a full leaf pack if you haul stuff. I will soon be upgrading to a full leaf IMG_20160308_070552.jpg IMG_20160313_195913.jpg

I started out with a stock truck. (2011 DCSB TRD OR) @ 40-something thousand miles, I installed a Toytech Boss kit. It was "slightly used". Come to find out, previous owner had tampered with the shocks. They almost immediately started leaking. So off they came....I had a 2-1/2" top plate spacer lift kit sitting on my work bench that came off a customers truck. I put it on for a while. The truck rode INDETICAL to what it did "stock", just a little higher. By the time I reached 83,000 miles, the stock OR Bilsteins were starting to wear down. The ride was getting a little harsh. So....I called Marie @ Headstrong Offroad, ordered a set of 4 Bilsteins 5100's, OME 885X coils, had them pre-assembled, included a 1/4" spacer, and Deavers 2" AAL (until I could afford Dakars at a later date.) When installing, I found I needed 1/2" spacer on drivers side to get level side to side. I make my own spacers out of 1/2" poly. That set up has been on the truck for a little over 2000 miles now.

It's going to stay that way indefinitely.

Ride quality is the best I've ever experienced in a 4wd. (I'm on my 17th 4wd since I got my first one in 1972/4th Tacoma) Stock hub center to fender front end measurement was 20" when stock. After allowing some time to settle, front end measures 22-7/8" now. So the lift is what I wanted. I got excellent alignment numbers with stock UCA's. The truck drives far better than it did stock. On and off road performance is all I could hope for. No tire rub before or after lift. (265/75/r16 lrC Goodyear Duratrac's.) I do have 1" Bora wheel spacers, but those were to get a wider stance, not due to any rubbing issues.

Deavers AAL gave me far better load carrying capacity that I expected. These trucks aren't exactly "heavy haulers" to begin with......So my expectations there are reasonable. With the slightly stiffer rear suspension, the balance is great between front and rear. Rear end sits about 3/4" higher than front at "static" position.

Price from Headstrong knocked it out of the park!

Long story short, I got an excellent ride, the looks I was after, the performance I'd hoped for, and at a very good pricenewlift 002.jpg newlift 003.jpg
