I am looking to buy a used Tacoma. I am wondering if there are any model years of thee 4 cylinder engines to avoid. I heard that in the early 200,s Toyota had some problems with head warpage but am not sure if this applies to any of these engines. Thanks a lot!!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I think you have them confused with the 3.0 V6. The 2rz/3rz series are stout motors. You will only find the 2rz on the five lug tacomas. The 22r series were also a stout motor. The only issue it had was the timing chain guides breaking. That was found on 95.5 and earlier Pick-ups
