    Hey all!

The 15 DC OR is paid off, 30k miles on it, and it’s been a hard 30k of remodeling homes, being used as a dumpster, ladder, horse for cutting stuff.. It’s been great. My tires are shot and I’d like to put a little work into the truck to enjoy some off-roading and camping now that we have a son on the way.

After searching and checking out other builds can you guys give me your input on what ive decided on. I’d like to pull the trigger this week.

OME 885’s and medium duty Dakar’s with Bilstein 5100’s extended rear brake lines, and I believe a diff drop from that package Headstrong sells.

SCS Sr8’s 17x8.5 with 275/70/17 Bf Ko’s. What are the appropriate lugs from SCS?

Goals, I’d like to keep my mudflaps, and I hope no trimming. That’s it more or less.

    Hopefully no need for UCA’s?

Thoughts. Or anything you would change? I guess the main variable here is the tire size!

Many thanks, love fog light mod I just did for the Baja Design fogs!

    Welcome!
I think you'll find mixed opinions on a diff drop. I have the 885 coils and without a diff drop and don't any any issues anywhere. No boot rubbing.
UCA's are recommended. SPC and JBA seem to be popular and fairly budget friendly.
I went with Total Chaos arms since I ran into some issues with my SPC's. Most don't get problems though.

Sorry about that, I meant the driveshaft bearing carrier drop. Not an actual diff drop. Misunderstood the description.

Thank you for the input on the uca’s. Didn’t want to do it right away but might aswell while I have the taco in the air! I will research what’s available a bit more!

I run 5100 all the way around, 885 and 1.5” lift in rear. I’ve got the KO2 275 tire, it rubbed the UCA at almost full lock. Didn’t want to dump money in the UCA just yet, so I got a .75 wheel spacer from bora and that fixed it. I did get a vibration in the rear after doing this setup, still chasing that. Mud flaps are fine, small front ones have to go tho.

Glad to hear it. Ok so my lift should put me at 2.5 all around, the UCA’s will get me back into spec for alignment.. just need to pick a UCA. Considering the camburgs with the moog balljoint.

Camburg and SPC are the same price at headstrong and i won’t need to worry about the balljoint moving around which seems rare neways. Expecting no need for spacers with the scs’s and 275 but will try to confirm.

What are your thoughts on what’s causing that vibration?

I doubt you need a UCA to get it aligned. I didn’t need it. It will align without it. I’m sure it’s the angles of the driveshaft and carrier bearing but the OME drop didn’t fix it. Tried adding spacers, etc to no avail. Haven’t done shims yet.
