    So heres my dilemma-

I got OME 884x springs installed and 1.5" aal lift with TSB on my 2012 tacoma access cab 4x4.

The ome 884X gave me approx 2" -2.25" of lift in the front.I believe I got about 1.75" in the rear with the aal- but I also have a camper, so that brings it down about 0.25".

My CV angle is great right now, I dont need UCAs, and my alignment came within spec. Problem is I dont like the rake I got- front sits too low for my liking. I know if I go up about 0.5" to 0.75" more in the front it will level the truck out more, but then my CV's might suffer in the long run. Not worried about UCAs- as I can buy those to correct alignment issues. My options are getting the trim spacer from toytec(the one for the taco lean) and install on both sides- which should yield about 0.5' lift OR getting the larger toytec spacer which should lift about 0.75" lift.

Apparently majority of people think Diff drops dont lower the CVs.

Can anyone with an approx 2.5" or 2.75" lift on the front of their 05+ tacos post some pics of their CV angles....or at least comment on the subject- Thanks

I currently run a 1.5" aal. Over the past 10 months it has settled somwhere between 1/4" to 1/2". With a cap, I suspect you will get at least the same. You might not want to rush pushing up the front.

Sorry no pics of my CV's.

    Thanks for the reply-
My lift has been on for about 6 months now and I seen a slight stettling in the rear, but nothing that will take away the rake. I will post pics of my lift alittle later so you can see what Im talking about. Im thinking of just going with the trim spacer on both sides-

Has anyone installed the trim spacer- do you know if it gave a solid .5" lift or was it less....also did the driving go south with the spacer and springs. right now my truck drives great and feels better than factory...

Here are mine with between 2.5 and 2.75 inches of lift. Originally truck was a TRD Sport, now truck has OME suspension with 886 coils.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a aftermarket front bumper with those 886 springs... I thought the 886 would give about 3" and the 885 are around 2.5".
Also did you extend the boot by loosing the clip and pulling the boot over a little then re-tighten?

After seeing that pic I think I might go with the thick 3/4" lift spacer on the drivers side and a smaller trim spacer 1/2" lift on the pass side. There's a 1/2" difference from my taco lean...

I was originally gonna just run the 884 s and the thicker spacers and get 3/4" on both sides, but that pic above is alittle too much angle for my liking...

The pictures I provided are for a DCLB without front bumper or winch. But it does have a full set of ATO skid plates and sliders which add some weight. The lift was much closer to 2.75" than 2.5".

I did not perform the CV boot extension mod. The angles have not cause any problems yet after 5,000 miles, but I clean them off after off-roading and give it the occasional spray of protectant. Believe it or not, the fins don't actually touch, but it's close to the limit of what I would be comfortable with for long CV life. From casual observation, I have not seen any real wear on the boots since installing the lift.

Mclovin got a nice taco- looks like there still is rake, but its hard to tell from the pic as the ground slopes down.

Got it down to two options to fix this rake/ lean dilemma:

1/2" spacer on drivers side/ 1/4" spacer on pass side- prob would need UCAs and CV angles more steep.

    or

1/4" spacer on driver side and remove my 1.5" aal and install 1" blocks instead. Wouldn't need new ucas and CV should be cherry still.

Anyone know if you still need alignment after installing the 1/4" spacer?

Thanks- I know aal is better....but I'm super picky when it comes to this and the rake and taco lean bothers the crap out of me. Wish they made a 1" aal....

anyway the 1/4" spacers and the 1/2" spacers are top plate, but you still have to remove and compress the spring to instal? And I'm assuming alignment is needed after as its being lifted....?

cv angles aren't what you're worried about with around a 3" lift, they'll be just fine. it's your ball joints on the uca's that pose the biggest worry point cause they have limited movement on the stock uca's. i'm running just over 3" lift in the front (w/diff drop from toytec) and ended up with just over 3.5" in the rear with the ome dakar leaf pack, no drama's over here though i do plan on upgrading my uca's in the future

prob will go with the 1/2 spacer and 1/4 spacer on pass side to give me the extra 1/2 or so lift and correct the taco lean....

Anyone else got pics of their CV's or input who have 3in or so of lift?

Nice- those CV's don't look bad at all. My friend also sent me a pic of his 3" lift and his don't look too bad- he put in the diff drop tho.

Do you have a diff drop?

    Any pics of your ride?

I do have the diff drop on mine. There are plenty of pics on my build thread (see sig). And I plan on ditching my sway bar and cranking on the preload adjusters more once I get proper uca's (hopefully towards the beginning of the year, tires need to come first). sits almost level now, once i crank the preload it will, and then won't again when i add a front bumper
