Video compares a TRD OR, TRD OR with 2.5" lift, and a TRD Pro. The OR with lift also has Toyo OC 285/75/17s.

Per Toyota, a TRD Pro is only 0.5" higher than a OR Hybrid, therefore the Pro lift only adds 0.5". An OR Hybrid is 0.7" higher than a non-hybrid OR and the tires should have only added 0.5" of height, so hybrids get a 0.2" lift (and a Pro has a 0.7" lift relative to a non-hybrid OR).

The measured OR was a little shorter than a factory spec OR and when you subtract the height gain from the tires, there is a net 1.6" of lift. If the stock OR was factory spec height, it would have only been 1.25" net lift.

Compared to the Pro, the lifted OR was 1" taller but 0.7 of that came from the tires. If Pros are 0.7" taller than non-hybrid ORs (tire corrected), then there was only a 1.0" net gain.

Interesting stats. I wonder why the hybrid OR is lifted .7” over non hybrid OR. Or is it because of the 18” wheels?

Congrats to dealer for providing answers to good questions.

But for the love of God, I do think they could have selected a far better way to measure ground clearance than using levels off of the antenna.

Would really love to know difference in height between OR hybrid with factory 2.5” lift and Trailhunter.

But measured to the same spot on the frame. And a part of the frame that makes sense like under the cab near a mounting point but still easy to measure accurately.

Using levels off the roof means a tiny amount of unlevel will easily change the measured dimension by a lot. Especially when you use the antenna mounted to a curved sheet metal part.

Also without putting anything in the bed or cab.

Then do it again with 300 to 400 lbs in the bed.

That sales guy had a good overall point to make, but then befuddled it all up by measuring like someone with a house full of crooked paintings.

The dealer posted the video a week ago. He may still have the lifted truck on the lot. Call him and ask for specific measurements.

So it seems that the hybrid OR gets slightly stronger coil springs to offset the weight difference (makes sense to me). Presumably, these slightly stronger springs combined with the 32.6" tires on the hybrid OR vs the 31.6" tires on the gas OR are what give the hybrid OR the .7" lift. I suspect the same is likely true with the Sport.

I wonder if the .2" lift is unintended by Toyota but was nearly to offset the weight difference of the batteries. Or is the miniscule lift intentional to go along with the larger wheel/tire combo?
