I’m going to be doing a 2.5 inch lift on my 99 ext cab. My leaf springs are sagging so I will be replacing them. Do I need to get new springs and an add a leaf or just the regular leaf springs, or is there a leaf spring that stock can accommodate a 2.5 inch lift?

Really depends on how much you are carrying...

If you're getting new leaf springs I'd suggest just getting a pack designed to provide the amount of lift you're looking for. As far as I know there's really only about 3 options out there:

    1) OME Dakar Leafs - typically provide about 1.5" of lift
    2) Alcan Springs (custom leaf pack)*
    3) Deavers Springs (custom leaf pack)*

*Both Alcan and Deaver can make custom leafs that will provide the amount of lift you want and they can provide added payload capacity. They are priced accordingly. I have Alcans and they're worth every penny.

A potential cost cutting option would be buying General Springs HD leaf pack, and pairing that with an add-a-leaf. I suspect you'd get at least 2" or so of lift (if not more), out of that, and it'd be probably still under $1000 for that plus all the ancillaries (extended rear brake line, new Unbolts, new shackles).

This would probably ride like crap unladen, so keep that in mind.

OME Dakar are rated at 2.25" of lift. If you have no bed weight they'll probably be closer to 3" and settle to 2.5".
