    I searched... i swear.

    2010 DC trd offroad.

TSB leaf springs right now. stock front suspension.

i want to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.

I do not do serious off-roading. no rocks at all. all beach sand and camping trails. no swaybar disconnecting.

I'd like to know if anyone is running 255/85r16 BFG muds on a 2.5" lift.

i do not mind massaging the pinch seam or fender liners. no problems with ditching the mudflaps. I just do not want to get into trimming the cab mount or lifting the truck beyond 3" .

    am i crazy?

if a 285/75/16 rubbs on a 3" lift, what makes you think a 255/85/16 will fit on a 2.5" lift? if you actually did use the search you would know the answer to this widley discussed question.

255/85/16 is a solid 33" tire...there will be some minor rubbing but that can be easily trimmed! I know when I tried to run 285/75/16s on my stock wheels i rubbed the UCA so bad I couldn't even mount the tire up! But a 255 is much narrower so I think you'l bee okay in that area :)

if you actually understood tire dimension, and WHERE a 285/75 rubs , you would see that it is a valid question.

a 285/75 is .25" smaller in height but almost 1.25" wider that a 255/85. Kept on stock rims with stock backspacing it is REALLY close, perhaps just depending on manufacturing tolerances.

I'm asking for experiences of people that actually run this setup or close to it.

CN: step out of my thread dicksmooch.

It's ok. I knew exactly what to search for because it was my question haha. I've done a lot of research on that tire size because I was certain I wanted to run them but have since decided I'll go a notch smaller.

You will be good to go, I'm running 255/85/16 on stock steelies. OME 885 front springs and Dakars rear. No problems, just a touch of rubbing at full lock on the frame( can't hear or feel it, but paint is gone.)

They won't rub much. I don't think they will rub the cab mount.
