I had a center cap stolen, or otherwise lost, the first week that I owned my Tacoma :annoyed:

Rather than replace that one, I was considering buying a set of 4 new ones... something more aggressive and probably black. I found some online ( https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/4-whe...cap-satin-black-501432702/_/R-4WPBR-501432702 )but their support agent said it would not fit my wheel... I imagine most of these are made for a particular wheel, but is that more of a design or a question of if it'll actually clip onto my wheel?
Would the same center bore mean it fits??
Or, indeed, will only this center cap fit on this wheel?

My backup plan is to paint them... but they'll still be pretty darn hideous :D

I'm also open to running without them: is this ill-advised or would I require something else to run "naked"?

I don't know the answer to your question.
However, if you really want to improve the look of your truck get rid of the ugly stock wheels.

Not in the books, financially speaking. I had some Mustang wheels I was refinishing when someone stole 3 of them... The 4th being in the bed of my truck

Whatever the case, I'm stuck with them for now, and so I am looking for creative solutions.

How about discarding the center caps and rattle-painting the wheels black?

I bought my 5-lugger with a missing cap.
A week of scanning Flebay and $18 later I had a replacement cap. Gave wheels & caps a Krylon treatment.

That's probably what I'm going to have to end up doing :(

Your wheels look improved; What color did you use on the wheel in the pic?

Used Krylon #2769 Metallic Dark Metal, followed with a gloss clear top coat. Center caps are matt black.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think it turned out well.

    Looking pretty fly!

What level tint you got there?
