Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
A prerunner yes! the 6 Lug 2WD All remove and replace.

The 5 Lug 2WD would be not be cost effective and you would need out standing Fabrication skills.

A solid front axle would make the job much easier on the 5 lug truck

I converted my 2wd tacoma about 2 years ago. Super easy as its pretty much a bolt on swap BUT it can add up depending where you are getting the parts. With the right tools and the space totally doable. Now sourcing the parts is what will take some time and will cost. Especially if youre in california. Ideal thing would be to get a donor truck that way your are not fishing for parts here and there.

I probably spent close to 4k to do the conversion. This included several new parts from toyota like wheels bearings, seals for diff and transfer case, U joints for the shafts, manual hubs, cv boots etc.. Another thing my truck was a 2003 so i could only use the transmission from a 03 or 04. That made it challenging for me to find this specific year of transmission and ended up being pricey as they are hard to find than the older year transmissions.
