2.7 BASE AUTO TRAN QUESTION

    09 2.7 base acces taco auto tran 139k question for the transmision savy ; I did a atf fluid filter change yesterday and overfilled a bit 3/16" past the hot full notch on the dipstick*** (@ 190°F and driven) Will it burn up or can I leave as is ? sidenote: then I read the note on the atf dipstick "under NORMAL driving conditions the transmision fluid need not be changed" or the like lol.

    The official (and technically correct) answer to your question: drain a bit of fluid and correct the fluid level.

    My answer: The system holds a lot of fluid, like 12 quarts or something like that. So 1/4" overfull is nothing. My 2006 2.7 automatic is currently about 1/2" above the full notch and it drives perfectly. Don't worry about it.

    its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
    when I drained my automatic I measured exactly 4 quarts taken out and that's what I put back in, dipstick reads on the money
