    Yeah I have to agree that something is circling the drain, I feel it time to visit the wrench, if you have done everything at the engine...hmmm...maybe exhaust, cat. convert, muffler ? :confused:

    Is a K&N worth that much??? If I can go from 23 to 26-28 for a $31.00 investment than count me in....:D
    For $70.00 on flea-bay you can get a CAI with the K&N with it...but I read the stock airbox isn't all that bad...:confused:

    A friend of mine bought the K&N and only got 1 mpg increase, I'd wait til something better comes along.

    i also had AMSOIL synthetic oil, so that was a contributor lol, but other than the filter and oil, it was bone stock

    The way your engine works is quite simple. It can work in open loop and in closed loop. Open loop mode : Your computer is using basic data and relying on most useful sensors (tps, maf, coolant sensor) to calculate the right amount of fuel so that everything works ok. Your car is in open loop until it reaches its normal working temperature. When it's temperature is reached, it goes into closed loop mode which means that he focuses mainly on the data that the oxygen sensors give him. That's why most manufacturers now put oxygen sensors with an integrated heater so that the oxygen sensor reaches its operating temperature faster which makes us all save a little bit on gas. The engine code you have is extremely general. You would have to have it checked by a specialist, a guy that knows his way around a scanner and electrical diagrams. It may cost you a bit more than your usual mechanic but they'll find the trouble in less time.

    32x11.50 and K&N filter drop in
    I get about 20mpg with 32x11 and 200k stock now. The best gas mileage I got on a full tank was around 325 with 14/15 gallons and that comes to be 23mpg and that was years ago. I bought the truck new and its never been tampered with, so basically I never get good gas mileage.
