We all know the 2.7 is... Mmm hmm. I think I saw someone here say that it's a whole new engine with aftermarket headers. True? Is it too much for the engine longevity-wise? Roughly how much $?

    Btw, I have a 15.

From what I've read LCE header is the way to go on the 2.7. I think they're around $400

Thanks. FWIW, I plan on towing a 2800 pound (loaded) old Airstream about 100-200 miles maybe 3 times a year max. No idea if that matters in this discussion.

    LCE makes a good product.

Other guys have also tried Doug Thorley headers. They had some issues with fitment, having to weld part of the headers after installation, and all-around just kind of an iffy experience.

I have heard nothing but good about the LCE, but maybe someone else smarter than I on it could chime in.

Maybe one more info tidbit, just realized it might be relevant... I would not be installing these myself, it would be done by an experienced mechanic (whoever that may be).

Only if you buy two headerS. :stirthepot:

I had an LCE ceramic header on a 22r back in the day(picked it up at their shop since I'm local) and put that thing through muddy hell. It looked brand spankin new several years later. :notsure:

It shifts the power band so that max torque happens earlier. Don't expect to anything too crazy.
