    Hello!

I am looking at getting a 4x4 manual reg. cab with the 2.7 I'd love a bigger truck but finances aren't going to allow that and honestly the higher MPGs will be worth it. I was wondering though, are there any perfomance upgrades for the 2.7? I saw the deckplate upgrade which looks good, but are there other options you guys have used?

I am not looking for anything like a supercharger (yet) but what about cold air intake or exhaust? Every where I look, it seems impossible to find accessories for the reg. cab. Any ideas?

the deckplate mod doesn't really work on the 05+ 2.7. About the best you can do without going with a S/C (Alpine makes a kit, URD is working on one) is to get an AFE Pro Dry S drop in air filter and remove the secondary charcoal air filter. The air intake already pulls from the fender well so it's already "cold" in my opinion. You can also remove the intake resonator from the fender well, but there has been some dispute over how much of a difference this makes. As for exhaust, a set of LCE or Doug Thorley headers will help. I don't know how many catbacks are available for the regular cab, but I'd just get the muffler I want and have it welded on. The Dynomax super turbo has a good rep on here. URD sells a Jardine catback but I'm not sure if they make one for the regular cab.

All in all the truck is pretty good stock IMO. It's a little bit of a gamble if the mods you make will help the performance or just make you think they help. Not a whole lot of dyno information out there except for the headers. The mods I've made are to try and make up for the power loss from running larger than stock tires. I plan on regearing in the end.

Ok sorry if that wasn't a "thank"! I wanted to add to your rep, not detract from it. If i did that, I'm sorry! Your post did help!

So what I meant to say was: thank you!

    Dude it's a 4cly truck...You really ain't gonna get any performance from it period...Trust me I know. I got a 2.7

Just think you'll save a bunch of $$$ from not getting tickets...Trust me on this to I came from a mildly tuned powerstroke.
