They should be iridium tipped plugs that are pre-gapped. You should not need to gap them. Iridium is a very hard durable metal, but it is very brittle and chips easy. This is particularly true when attempting to re-gap one.

Buy the NGK for Denso iridium plug for your truck. Denso Part # SK20HR11, NGK Part # NGK 6619 LFR6AIX-11 IX
Check the gap on the new plugs to be 0.044 inch. IF it isn't 0.044 inch return the plug to the store for replacement.

    I prefer Denso...

So I checked Amazon and the Plugs you suggested according to Amazon do not fit my truck. The gap.044 is not the gap compatible with my engine .043 is the one? I'm confused that both items were not the right ones but found plugs that were .044 gap and were compatible with 2012 Tacoma 2.7 liter. So what's up with that who do I trust. Will the plugs be different for a 4cylinder then a 6 cylinder? of the same make and model car just different size ?

Dont buy auto parts of Amazon/ebay, too many counterfeit and junk parts on there and it can be very difficult to tell the difference between fake and genuine parts.

Get them from an auto parts store, dealer, or rock auto so you know your getting the real thing..

If you look in your owners manual under vehicle specifications Denso SK20HR11 is the correct plug for the 2.7L.
If you don't have an owners manual they can be downloaded at https://www.toyota.com/owners/warranty-owners-manuals/

I third this. There are so many counterfeit parts being sold on Amazon and Ebay now days because neither one monitors/controls the counterfeits, and spark plugs are one of the worst - and I must say, the fakes look REALLY good.

Thank you so much, I didn't know about counterfeits on Amazon, I blindly trust Amazon for being authentic and verified specs for all their parts. I see you gave me links to verify the manufacturer specs. Thanks so much for really getting me the correct info. and confidence to trust you and this website for telling it like it is.

Also, Amazon's "this fits your vehicle" function is not very accurate. Rockauto is much better for matching up part numbers. Even if you do not purchase from rockauto, you can still use it to look up the part number.

Amazon is the Aliexpress/Temu of America now. There is so much cr@p being sold by third parties on the site, even "shipped by Amazon."

Amazon doesn't care about the quality or authenticity being sold on their site anymore as long as it brings in the money. A couple of times I got counterfeit items from them and chatted with their customer service about them. All they could say was to return it, and they never took the product page down or removed the seller. I don't even remember what the products were at this point because it was so long ago, and because of those experiences, don't buy any branded products from them.

You can't even rely on it being "sold by Amazon" as being genuine, as for many products, when vendors send product in for the "shipped by" service, they are all thrown in the same pile as the stuff that Amazon themselves bring in. When something is sold, it's just taken from the pile which can be a mix of genuine and counterfeit items sent in by third party sellers.
