I found a supercharged 2000 2.7 Tacoma with the Alpine/TRD discontinued supercharger installed. A few problems I have..... I hear those units had lots of problems, if this is true, what are they? Also, the truck has almost 230k miles, is that a big problem, especially with the supercharger, i know it was properly maintained, but that's a helluva lot of miles. Does the charger decrease engine life significantly? Thanks for any info.

I had just over 100K miles on mine, and it ran like new. With that many miles, the SC may need a rebuild, but everything else should be OK.

Thanks chris. i just talked to the seller, he said he put the blower on at about 190k miles, I'm not sure if that was a bad idea or not. I'm more worried about the engine nedding a rebuild than the blower. How much would a rebuild on the S/C be? Thanks.

Find out if he upgraded the head studs that the s/c bolts to, and the center support mount that goes from the s/c to the motor mount. That was the weak link on that s/c cause they always broke which is why toyota stopped selling that s/c. When I had my 04 with the s/c I changed those out to arp studs.
