I have a 05 2.7 Pre runner, reg cab, 5 speed and the clutch is starting to die on me. I have the opportunity to buy a brand new whole trans, Toyota 6 speed man for 500.00. My buddy knows a Toyota mech, he some how got the trans.....I'm asking no questions??!! But, can I put it in my truck??

Anything is possible, depending on how much money you want to spend. You would have to use an addapter if some sort, as it wont bolt right up. You may have to have one custom made.

Ummm, that's what I thought! I was hoping it would bolt right up.

Not sure you would want to anyways. 5 spd has a steel pilot shaft and is superior to 6 spd design in that respect. Ask the guys who have had 3+ 6spd trans swaps already. FJ's have the issue as well. This is probably why theres one for $500. Replace and enjoy the 5!

Another company will soon make shaft kit as toyota won't fix so this may help people out.

Edit: looks like the kit is available from a few places. Great news for the 6spd guys!
