Was headed home and truck shut down. Would start back up immediately but wouldnt run for crap (low power, acting like it was missing). Got into a parking lot and it would start right up and idle no issues but the moment you gave it gas it would shut down. Had to get a ride to work and was going to mess with it the next day. Came back the next morning and it wouldnt start. Crank no issue just no fire. Checked to see if my spark plugs were hitting and removed 1 and 2 no problem, number 3 pulled the threads. Got towed to the house and removed the head got it cleaned out and new threads installed from a friend with a machine shop. Reinstalled head with new gasket and bolts. Now it wont start. I have checked the timing a half million times and checked the fuel pressure, building good pressure. New coils, New plugs. Found i had a fault for a IAC which i found to be carboned up. Replaced. I can hit the key and it will crank no issues. Will hit randomly and run. But only for a split second. And if it does run it runs super rough. I dont know where to go from here other than beat my head against the wall.

I don't think that beating your head against a wall will help too much :burp: .

How many miles on the truck/motor?

You could check the compression values to see if there are all close to each other.

Is your CEL light on? You could also check to see if there are any stored CEL conditions.

You could also pull the plugs from your injectors and then measure the resistance of each injector. I would think that somewhere between 14 and 18 ohms would be okay, but I'm only going by the injectors on my truck.

What's the condition of spark plugs #3 and #4?

You wrote that the engine would not start after you removed and reinstalled the head. Any chance you missed hooking something up?

Sorry for late response. To the post I got to drinking some beers and found the solution.....I am a idiot. Cat came completely apart and due to everything going on at once I never thought to look down lol. Sometimes KISS method really works lol. I think I should have started drinking earlier would have found it.

A very common symptom of a failing fuel pump is it will start....
...then it stumbles and dies when you give it gas..
    ecm cant compensate.....

clogged fuel filter would do same.

or purge valve on charcoal canister is stuck open...

Thank you all for replying. Well I had a full exhaust for the old girl and I guess today was the day to dive in and swap her over. She's gonna sound good and be able to breath so much better. Thank you guys again.
