How so? The amount to convert to 4x4 5spd wouldn't even cover the taxes on a new V6.

Not pointing fingers at anyone in particular... You're not the only one that has had that opinion. Sucks hearing it no matter who ya hear it from. I appreciate all advice just sucks when it seems like what you wanted to do other people put it down (or comes across that way)

Yeap, I agree. With the auto you'll want all the gearing you can. Stay away from Heavy Tires also. I'm running the OE Raptor KbrO2 which is the only C-Rated 35 I could find. Tire says Ford somewhere on it. No White Walls on the Raptor Tire :frusty::frusty::frusty:

If you pull the diffs yourself you can get it regeared for under $1,000. Locally I can get gears installed for 200-250 a diff.

I'm pretty sure the dual VVTI in the 15+ is a bit different, I'm still stock 3.92's (for now) with a manual and I can drive 80mph as long as I don't have a head wind or a hill.

Are you serious? Your input was the shittiest advice in the entire thread and now you try to justify it with cost? Aside from the fact that going to stick shift would do almost nothing for her it doesn't sound like she's the person to do it by herself. Also, I said that TRADE. As in trade for a V6 all other things equal. I didn't tell her to go buy a second new truck lol

OP said cost was a concern:

Supercharger will be more expensive than V6 (equal year and mileage trade), will perform worse and require premium fuel AND, more importantly the auto trans behind the 2.7L doesn't play nice with the supercharger. At least not the URD one and I think that's the only North American option out there...

Just trying to help. Big picture I think what I wrote makes sense but of course it's a hard truth. By all means get the gears. Might also want to look into the LCE long tube header. Heard it does great things for the 4banger

Thanks sir, yes I have 2.7 at in a 2013 AC 4wd. The truck is pretty well armored with sliders, steel skids, and an aluminum plate bumper. I'm running cooper st maxi tires in 255/80/17's each tire and wheel weighs 87 pounds. I installed the age drop in filter, removed the secondary filter, and installed the live header on stock exhaust. Is it a power house! No but with the adding even carrying all the weight it still gets up and goes on down the road even in the mtns here where I live (granted to those of you out west these would be hills) when I get off Rd it doesn't seem to matter the 4 banger just keeps pumping along like a tractor motor. It's not fast by any means the biggest shortfall I've found is towing but at that I just towed a packed uhaul trailer 8 hours home a couple weekends ago. If your determined on 35's listen to somebody like @TYetti who is using them. My only other suggestion is the regear and if your not off reading try to find a lighter tire. With that width you have such a large contact patch on the Rd it creates a lot of drag. Good luck!

Thank you. Idk what the differences are between the 5 speed and an auto but I have a solid gain in low end torque. I couldn't care less about the hp it's the torque I wanted and the lce provided it for my automatic. It's easy to tell when driving through the mtns and it doesn't downshift nearly as much.
