ok guys its time for a lift. but i keep going back n forth between lifts.
    5100 (new)
    5100 with 884 (new)
    toytec ultimate coilovers (used)

im in hawaii where the roads are pure shit. little to no offroading. occasional fishing/camp. im thinking 5100 for now at 2.5, if it sucks then add some 884s. lr uca will come if i need them

Can I ask why the 6112 Bilsteins?
Are they a good replacement for the factory shocks? I haven't been researching replacement shocks
but thought what if i came across some factory TRD OffRoads would they be worth it or not.
Then I also discovered the front sway bar on a TRD OR model has a lesser diameter, which I find intriguing.
At least a 2015 Taco and I am sure it's the same for past years. I was wondering if my base AC would ride or at least
want to flex a little more with the TRD sway bar up front. I haven't yet gone through the part numbers to be sure the
end links are the same. I mean a new front sway could be pretty cheap at a junk yard and all you have to purchase new
    would be the bushings.

I don't plan on lifting my AC any time soon but would appreciate a good replacement shock that works better with the truck and such.

I went with the 6112 because it's the same stuff Toyota puts on the TRD Pro and TX Baja trucks. Bigger body shocks that are supposed to perform better than the stock size stuff. I really like the way my truck rides.

It's pretty reasonably priced too. I paid $750 for the front shocks built with new mounts so I didn't have to mess with assembling them myself. Normally they just come with the shocks and springs and you have to assemble, but Headstrong Off-Road shipped them to me like this.

    Great,
What did you do in the rear...
I just found them on Bilsteins US website but guess they don't offer them for the rear. "Yet"

Did you level the front too?

For the rear I just did 5100 shocks. But they recommend the piggyback reservoir 5160 to match the 6112 front. That's what Toyota uses on the TRD Pro and TX Baja.

I might put the 5160 on eventually, but they were back ordered when I got my fronts.

Yes, I put the front at position 2 (could go 3 settings higher) and got 1.6" of front lift. Parked next to a Pro the other day and it's the same height front and rear.

    10-4, thanks man.
Being realistic ill probably just keep an eye out for TRD takeoffs or the 5100s. I'm about to get married and we are buying our first home also. :)

Basically this setup saves you $500 on a TRD Pro suspension kit because it doesn't have the TRD stickers on the shocks. Plus you get the option of adjusting the front higher if you want that the Pro shocks don't have. They only have 1 spring perch setting and these have 5.

    Appreciate the info big time.

I'm struggling right now if I should go to a 265 75 16? Or just get a nice all terrain or mud tire in a 245 75 16 because realistically I'm not going to re-gear my truck.

    New truck is a 5-spd,

It's the decision that I need to make this soonest because Discount Tire will give me a really good credit on my new Dunlops the sooner I trade them in and buy a new set of tires.

Mines also a 5 speed 4x4 and with 265/75-16 it drives just fine. The tires are only 31.7" so it's not a huge difference.

    Sweet, thanks again.

For the money a 10 ply 265 75 16 can be cheaper or close to what a 10 ply 245 would be.

No problem. Yeah the price was basically the same for the stock size or the 267/75 tire when looking at the BFG KO2 tires. I don't regret going this size, drivability is still good and it looks great.

I need to change out the spare sometime too.

Did you sell your old Dunlops, or did you do what I plan to do and got a credit on them towards the new tires?

I got the tires through a body shop my friend works at. Then I sold the stock tires to a local used tire shop for $150.

    Cool,
Must have been nice having tire pressure sensors that fit aluminum wheels, I kinda like my steel wheels or so I'm convincing myself.

Yeah I kinda lucked out finding the SR. Didn't even know they made them and was gonna buy a base model instead that was in stock. But then I found this on Toyotas site and had to have it. Worth the 8 week wait for ordering it.

I want to change the wheels for the TRD bead locks though, so maybe these will go up for sale soon if you're interested.

    Lol... 8 weeks is awesome.
I'm still looking at a total of 4 months and 5 days, however I knew it was going to be a while and my dealership is the same dealership I've dealt with for years, this will be overall my fourth truck from them in the past 20 years or so. They've been great I can't say enough good things about them. When they did my estimate during the ordering of my truck they advised they are holding my trade-in value at what they estimated it at. I just keep on driving it and Lord willing keep it in the same shape as when they looked at it.

Just added ride rites in addition to the 5100's. I love my truck.
