Hey a quick update you guys, @Greenbean & @JBecker on my clutch pedal squeak!

So yesterday after work i took the truck to the dealership to get them to look at that annoying squeak in my clutch pedal. Got there about 4:20 for my 4:30 appointment and it took them about an hour to figure out what i needed replaced. So the service guy comes back to me in the waiting room and says this would be all covered under the 3 year 36,000 miles which you are over and the cost for all the parts was around $600 with 3 hours of labor, and i was like hold on a minute. I purchased this truck on February 1st 2015 and it was Certified Pre-Owned and it came with a 1 Year or 12,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty (I currently owned the truck for a little over 6 months and roughly had 5500 miles on it). So he argued with me a little about that and then i said I'm not paying anything for you guys to fix this truck! So then he went back and called Toyota Extra Care and finally about an hour after that he came back to the waiting room and told me that they were going to cover it under my warranty and there will be a $50 deductible. So a $50 deductible isn't too bad for around $600 worth of parts. So he said they are going to order the parts and when they come in they will call me and i can schedule a appointment to get it fixed!

So just to let u guys know that if you are under 3 years or 36,000 miles they will probably fix the clutch squeak, not sure if they go up to the 2015 year or not tho.

    A little information for everyone!!!!

Haha well I guess that's nice to know it's covered under warranty but how does that help everyone know what the problem is? You didn't inquire about what the parts they are replacing are? I have a very pronounced squeak from my clutch when pushing it in and its coming from the slave cylinder. I don't know if that's where everyone else's noise is coming from but have someone else sit in your truck and push the pedal in a few times while you lay under the truck and see what you find. A slave cylinder is not $600 worth of parts so I'm curious if that's Toyota just replacing every clutch part they can or if that's just their fucked up marked up pricing on things

They are going to replace the clutch master cylinder, all the line and the slave cylinder & the clutch pedal assembly & in that price is the 3 hours of included labor. When i get them to do it I will get a breakdown of how much the parts cost from the sheet!!!!

Oh ok yeah that helps a lil more. Haha sounds to me like they didn't try and find the specific problem. It's not the master cylinder creating the squeak nor is it the brake lines. The problem will be in the slave cylinder and/or the clutch pedal assembly. The clutch pedal could be diagnosed with some wd40, the slave cylinder not so much.

Ya, i think the squeaking is coming from the clutch master, cause if you go down under the dash and twist the rod on the master it goes away for a little while and comes back lol.

Ok ....... My bad ..... I guess you didn't catch that I said "master cylinder or brake lines". I was talking with a co worker about his brakes this morning and had brake master cylinder stuck in my mind. Haha so yes it could be the CLUTCH master cylinder. In my case it's not.

    Learned something the other day.
Turns out my 2015 Access Cab Utility Package truck IS pre-wired for a back up camera!!! :jellydance:

I removed my panel to see once and for all and found this...

So what camera am I looking for, Just any 2012+ back up camera.
I know some can purchase a cheaper camera by going through the company
that actually makes the cameras for Toyota.

I really and stoked about this one. Especially after just getting my tint done.

Toyota wanted 500 I think it was 200 at camera source. Looks stock. Or maybe it is what they use.

    Thanks,

They have just the camera for about 220.00

So was there a difference in cameras? Or is the camera itself the same just the display different as in the mirror versus the radio unit?

Yeah I'm gonna get that camera. Just checked mine and it's pre wired.

And regarding the clutch squeak, I doubt changing parts is gonna help since my 15 is already doing it. How different can the parts mine has be to what they will install for you?But let me know if it does solve the squeak.

I pulled the dust boot back from the piston on the slave cylinder and sprayed it with wd40 lithium grease and my squeak went away, for the moment

    Thanks, I'm curious.

? For ya, do you have a little free play in the pedal? Enough that when you go to depress the pedal you hear the click or pop as the slack is taken up and then you have the resistance of the master cylinder?

Picked the truck up tonight after they changed all the stuff for me. Seems like the clutch is grabbing higher than it did before, strange. But here is a pic of what they replaced on my receipt. And no there is no freeplay in the pedal at all. 20150812_222946.jpg
