Can someone explain to me the difference between the 4cyl tacoma access cab and the 4cyl 5 lug access cab? (May be a stupid question)

Is it mainly to make a lower suspension for the working trucks? If so if modifying the 5 lugs suspension make it equivalent to the 4cyl tacoma?

Trans is the same. Prerunner has 4.10 gears to account for the larger tires as well.

Yes the front where the "skid" plate would mount is a little different and there is something else upfront really minor I forget.

I think the front suspension is all different too on 5 lugs. Lca, uca and spindles are all different design from 6 lug models.

Ive got some highway tires on mine right now in 265/70r16 which measures 30.6 in height was thinking about moving down to the lt245/75r16 which is 30.5 in height the width is the real difference the 265 is 10.7 and the 245 is like 9.5 or something like that. Im thinking of getting the cooper st maxx in 245 but not sure if it will look right.

Why not? IMO the 245's are a great size and the tire tread make a big difference in look.

I didn't read before your post but if you are going down in size because of mpg, think about tire weight too!

No not at all for mpg or anything just price really the 245 is 15-20 cheaper then the 265/75 and i wasnt for sure if the st maxx would fit in the 265/75

Sometimes for work I drive a Ford f150 with duratracs on it and the size is 245 70 17, kinda the same height and width is the same and when I park next to it, it looks bigger haha. So with St maxx in 245 I wouldn't worry about the look :p

I once saw a set of ST MAXX tires in 245 and swore they were larger until I read it for myself.

Ever since then I have had them book marked in my mind.

I compared them to my 265/70r16 mastercrap courser hsx and the 245/75 seemed to be an inch or so taller but that was just redneck measuring against my leg haha

If you're measuring with the tires on the vehicle, with the weight of the car on the tire... that won't measure properly. Sidewall is crushed.

Not to mention, Brand to Brand, each and every measurement varies... a 245/75/16 diameter, tread width, and sidewall width will be different from a Michelin compared to BFG or a Cooper or a Mastercraft.
