The Off Road wheels are lighter than the steelies, the MPG lost was more than likely a result of greater rolling resistance.

The wheels are just the standard 16" alloy wheels that I've seen on most 2nd gen TRD OR models. I think the tires are 8 lbs. apiece heavier than the Dunlops.

    Modifications in order.
    Stalk, ultraguage, tint
16" Wheels (FN) and maybe 265/70 still deciding
Lift Bilstein or KING depending on money
    Camper shell

It might change, but that is the plan.

Be sure and check out 265/75 as they are a LOT more common and many more manufacturers make the 265/75 but not as many make the 265/70 so often brand and model are cheaper in the 265/75 in the same tire.

And FN wheels will be 8" wide anyways so running a 265/75 is perfect.

That is true I am looking at tire rack for reference. Cooper at3 load c 245/75/16 is about $10 more than 265/75/16.

Edit: Or I could just get 235/85/16 but no 8"rim.

I ran the stock 245/75-16 for 30k (Hankook DynaPro ATM), then the 265/75-16 for 29K(Cooper AT3), just switched to the 265/70-16 (Cooper ATP).
The 265/75's were "okay" but caused a bit of a perfomance hit due to the change in diameter. Wasn't worth the cost to re-gear and wasn't horrible but I have a lot of added weight in tools and sliders and skids so it all added up. Now my 1st gear starts aren't involving as much clutch action and I think I will like it overall better.

Liked the Hankooks, the Cooper AT3's were great overall just not so good in the mud which is expected for an AT tire. Just got the ATP's and think they will be as good and maybe a little better in mud.

I just need to say this as it's absolutely true, if you have a SAMS you can call and see if they have the BFGoodrich K02s in stock in the original size which is the 245 7516 because once you see em, you'll get those, sometimes I wish I just would've got those and not got my 265/75 Hancooks.

The downside though is the 245 KO2s are going to be a 10 ply my 265 Hancooks are only four.

I really do not mind the stock tire size. I am looking at price, weight, and longevity throughout the brands. As for looks, meh, I want something that works.

    10-4,

If I could convince the wife I could possibly sell my 265 hankooks quickly I would go get the stock 245 KO2s this coming weekend. They are the best AT we could put on the truck IMO, and at stock size I am curious what the difference in feel would be.

I ran the stock Dunlops for @22K I think, then had the 4-ply 265s put on and am at 31K. I noticed a slight difference but not much. Biggest change was uphill onramps trying to wring out third gear!

When I aired down just 5psi for a forest service road, I could tell a big difference with the grip/traction even with half tread life on stock 265/70/16 Goodyear Wrangler.

As for mpg, in the 4cyl, I got about 208miles on ~8.5gal. About 24mpg going averaging 70 on the hwy I thought that was amazing. I got <20 mpg going 70 on the v6 manual.

    That's good MPG,

Reference the stock size and a light(er) 4-ply tires in the Wrangler.

Thanks I feel like the odd man out here. Everyone's all like 265s and tire pressure this and that and I'm all like I've got 35s and shit load of steel plate lol

I've got the skids (BAMF 1/4" plate everything but the rear diff.) because I "don't" have a big lift. Only about 2.5" and that was mostly to make up for the skids anyway.
I have trouble getting in and out of tall vehicles so got the armor to help make up for lack of ground clearance.

Ya I'm only at about 2.5-2.75" of lift in the front too. I've gotta get a diff skid I've come close to ripping off my drain plug a few times. The next few trips I'm doing will have lots of big rocks. Not like I don't have that here lol

    Too few to list.
I think the decrease in your mpg is more likely the tires you went with. The stock TRD OR alloys are lighter than the steel wheels.
