    Updating my last posts. Just changed the oil and filter. Sent a sample off for an analysis and bought a pan and battery heater to be installed soon. It's getting pretty cold. 11 degrees this morning.

    You can drive it while it's slapping but it certainly isn't recommended. I certainly wouldn't. I don't have a piston slap problem but I still warm my truck up winter or summer before I drive it. It's not that big of a pain. I just go out and throw whatever I'm taking to work in there and start the truck and lock it. The come back in and take care of the last few things while it's warming up.
