2.7L Mpg Testing

    2017 Tacoma SR 2.7 auto
    I had it on cruise and it was just loafing along at the same rpm (if I remember correctly I think it was around 1600 at 55mph), not downshifting to keep at speed. But maybe the engine is somehow pulling more fuel without downshifting or increasing rpms?

    Finally did some extended freeway driving at 65mph, with a little city driving mixed in. Averaged 25.5mpg. That's with the fugly air dam removed. :headbang:

    I really hope when people say they are going 55mph on hwy....its a scenic hwy where the speed limit is like 45-55 and not a normal highway were traffic flow is 70++.

    I have a gen 2 with the 4 banger, 4.88s, 295/70/17s, and about 800lbs added weight, and ive been averaging 20+ mpg. It is a prerunner, but im extremely pleased with the mileage

    I typically drive 70-80mph on the hwy for reference

    Mpgs around town are never less than 19
