I have a 2010 2.7l tacoma and am trying to see if a 3.4l swap from a 3rd gen 4runner is doable. Has anyone ever successfully done one? Any tips or things that i will need for the swap? Thanks in advance

That's going to be a process. Since they are completely different generational changes.ECU and harness to match the new equipment, at a minimum.

Wouldnt be worth your time and energy for a backwards technology swap with minimal power gains.

    Now a 1 or 2UZ ....

I really doubt you will find any write up or info on that.

Of course it's doable, but you would be completely on your own to make up the entire process.

You would have a much easier time swapping in a 4.0, or even a chevy v8, since those are well documented

Did you come across a free motor or something??? Free sometimes can cost more...

The 2.7L 2TR-FE is the perhaps the better built engine....if you really need power gains I would look at the URD supercharger kit for our trucks. I think that would honestly be cheaper in the long run when you consider time is money.

For minimal gains, and most likely a tired 3.4 V6. Easier to swap in the 4.0 or just boost the 2.7.

Ive seen the supercharger kit they have its 5k and always out of stock, not sure if its a built to order product or not. Im starting to think about just putting a turbo on it and call it a day. Not trying make a race truck or make out boost just want something you dont see everyday
