Just picked a new 3rd w/ the 2.7, new territory for me. I've noticed several times under "medium" acceleration when the truck gets to either 3-4 or 4-5 gear shift I'm hearing a whistle similar to a wind noise whistle coming from the motor. It only lasts for about 2 seconds. Normal characteristic for this motor?? any ideas? Got a whole 72 miles on it.

It’s a noise from the ac it doesn’t hurt anything or cause any issues . If u are worried about it u can take to the dealer . But it will require them tearing out your dash to get to it . Then It might cause other noise issues from the dash removal .
Mine has done it for awhile now . I’m at 43k .

You’ve made, dunno for sure, one of the biggest purchases of you life very recently and you have a complaint. I suggest you discuss the issue with the people you made the purchase from. They have a financial incentive to make you happy. No one on this forum does, albeit we also have no conflicts of interest.

I have dealer trust issues. Right now I'd rather see if the noise leads to anything obvious before the dealer goes poking around

Maybe you should buy cars from private individuals then?

In any case, this whistle you hear, even though I cannot hear it from my location, is very likely a non-issue that you are worrying too much about because you just made a major purchase.
