What did you mean with #5 by adding some front risers to the seats? I'm 6'5" and the lack of thigh support from not being able to adjust the seat is a bummer. Another bigger thing that may be a deal breaker for me when I'm ready to buy my new truck next March is that the new Taco is longer (by 4") and a bit wider than the 2nd gen. I'm going to try and get a dealer to let me drive home an access cab or dbl cab short bed (same length) to see if it still fits in my garage. Hope so or I may be looking at buying a Frontier which is almost 7" shorter:(

Take out the front seat bolts, go to home depot and pick up some longer ones with the same thread pattern. Grab some washers and just start stacking them until you get the front seat height you desire.

every time someone writes this.... they did not include a vertical axis of movement for the drivers seat because the components would raise the seat higher than it is now in its lowest position

Easily remedied with a headlight indicator light in the gauge cluster.

Most people won't pay attention to that either.

I believe that the 2nd gens have the indicator light.

No, he is complaining because the halogen bulbs bleed into the DRLs and make them look orange. I have not noticed this

Anyone able to comment on the tie down cleats? I don't have any. Do they come with the truck or do you buy them? Getting ready to text my salesman but want to know before I do.

I'll check there next. Called and they put in an order with parts for me... So no worries either way.

I like my truck to look good whether I can see it when I drive or not. Its just how I am. Its the same reason people buy different wheels. You cant see them when you're driving but it makes people happier.

My thing is having everything match and in order. Its just how I am. Gotta love OCD.

So all the OP's gripes are mostly cosmetic/creature comforts. Guess he didn't test drive the truck first, and/or he didn't realize or need to buy a truck in the first place. Since you live in SoCal it sounds like you would have been better off with a loaded white Camry just like everyone else down there, or if you're a baller go with some fancy luxury vehicle, not a truck! Surprised he didn't complain about no grab rail on th driver's side to make it easier to crawl into the cab while he's wearing his skinny jeans!

What i dont understand is, here in canada we get alot of additons the states dont. But we get shafted on the trucks overall.
My trd sport no upgrades, has the auto lights, garage door opener, mudguards, sill protectors, carpet and all weather mats, and the entune plus headunit w/nav. There were a couple others but i cant remember.

Why cant a trd sport be a trd sport , or a limited a limited makes no sense to me to change things on the assembly line for the same truck.

Now i remember, heated mirrors and seats.

OR... The OP could be disappointed that Toyota seems to have ignored a number of things that make a difference to those of us that live in these trucks. I bought the 16 after putting 114,000 on my 09. I have been very disappointed in a number of things; some noted by the OP. Add to his list; USB 2.0 support instead of USB 3.0 that has been out for 8 years, so it won't charge my phone or tablet. Then there are the 4 storage bins that are gone, and the the one dedicated to the garage door opener. My list is significantly longer. Nothing all that bad but just a disappointing loss of confidence.

We have the limited with jbl, but no jbl upgrade packages for other models.
The sport comes in sport like mine, or sport upgrade, only added features are moonroof, bsm, and rear cross traffic alert. They want an extra 2000 for that. I didnt think a moonroof was worth 2k.

    Move along troll.

Anyways... I was going to hardwire my Mobius camera to the fuse panel but decided against it. Instead I ran a 15' up angled mini usb cable.

Started at the Mobius/GoPro Mount and ran the cable along the headliner and down the pillar.

I then removed the pillar covering and zip tied the usb cable to the airbag cable already running in the pillar (it does not interfere with the airbag at all, its just to keep the cable from rattling)

[IMG] (dont mind my shitty rope christmas lights)

I then dropped the cable down the right side of the dash/glove box and pulled it out from under

Zip tied it to some of the cables at the foot of the passenger
    [IMG]

I removed the 2 bolts in the bottom of the arm rest to allow me to pull up on the center console to run the cable along the side

I then had to cut a small portion of the hole that already exsist in the bottom of the arm rest/storage bin to allow the end of the USB to pop through

and with an USB adapter and the Mobius setup to turn on when power is received, this works perfectly and keeps it clean.

What phone do you have? My port charges phone (HTC M8) just fine. USB 3.0 is still offered sparsely on a lot of products, even laptops, so it doesn't surprise me. It is pretty weak though to have only a single port since I use a low profile USB drive for audio storage. I had to get a multi-port for the center console socket.

Nokia 928 & ASUS T100 tablet. Phone sucks the battery down in no time at all if I am in a marginal coverage area, which seems to be a lot of the time. Add blue tooth drain, GPS drain and bloatware updates Google is sending hourly and it seems like I need to use the trolling battery from my boat to make it through a 12 hr day without recharging. Add in cameras and other toys that need juice and its probably knocking me down a couple of MPG just from the load on the alternator.
