To the OP - truck looks great! Cool to see an access cab with the lift kit installed.

Also, as an FYI for those questioning the $1300-$1500 price tag of the TRD OEM lift kit. It isn't just shocks and blocks... The kit includes:

    4 shocks
    2 Blocks (leaf spring spacers)
    TRD Grill
New milliwave radar sensor (recalibrated for lift)
New grill garnish for radar sensor (aka TSS garnish cover)
    Sub-wire jumper harness
    Parking brake cable spacers
Foglight Dummy Bezels (I assume most people don't use these)
Various hardware: U-bolts, other bolts, lock nuts for shocks, etc.

As another member stated above, the main benefits are keeping your factory warranty and ensuring TSS works 100% correctly. Also, I believe you can purchase all 4 TRD shocks separately for $400-$800? (depending on sale pricing) if you just want the actual lift components.

I wouldn't mind this set up. However, how is this lift I general when is comes to trails?

Exactly. Went with 5100 version and I still retain my factory warranty on everything but what the factory didn’t put in. Bilstein then covers those for life vs Toyotas 12k miles/1yr warr. My TSS is fine, cameras fine, haven’t needed ECGS mod, zero issues.

If the Trd kit installation causes any problems, the factory warranty still doesn’t apply to subsequent repairs . That now gets covered by the Toyota dealer who installed it incorrectly, up to 12 mos/12k miles .

I have the TRD Lift kit as well. I don't offroad, I just wanted more height to my truck. I also know absolutely nothing about working on trucks or DIY installs like this, nor would i even know where to look locally to have someone else do it for me. So having a dealership do it for me was something I could justify I suppose, for me atleast.

It was Approx $2400 once all was said and done for the lift. Took like 7 or 8hrs to finish. Yeah I could have saved money by asserting any kind of effort, but oh well. I'm happy with it for MY daily needs.

So how does Toyota tune the shock valving? This is a Bilstein 5100 shock to my understanding. Maybe it has something to do with the TRD stickers.
