Is it possible for a booster sit to sit in the middle with a regular child seat on the outside passenger seat ?

My dad is looking at a Gen 1. He wants bench seat for emergency if he has to take his grand kids (hasn't happened in the past). But that is his reasoning for not getting buckets

    He doesn't want double cab

    Appreciate the info

Pretty sure it's illegal for any car seat to be positioned in the front seat of a vehicle. They must be in the rear seats of a passenger vehicle. I'm not totally 100% on that but that's what I remember.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Pretty sure it's legal if your vehicle isn't fitted with rear seats though.

So I just looked this up according to California laws. To a point yes it's legal if you have them in a rear facing car seat and the vehicle is equipped with a button/switch to turn the air bag off. If not then it's illegal and they must be transported in a different vehicle because it's to dangerous.
