I have 265/75r16 (same as 70r17) duras with a 2" level on my 3rd gen, 285's will rub but not much, I prefer never rubbing. the one size up rule applies to all Toyota trucks, step up one profile and don't worry about it.

I have e's because I would have had to pay extra shipping for C's. They work better for me because I deflate really low due to the rocks we have out here. If you don't plan on doing trails or deflating I'd go C for sure.

Just want to throw this out there. I know some people have had good experiences with duratracs, but there are quite a few of us that havent had good experiences with them. They're fine when they are new, but once they have some mileage wet traction dissapears and vibration issues can become a problem. These are the most problematic tires Ive ever had.

Starting to look at tires for my 2017 TRD Off Road. Seeing your truck really has me leaning towards the Duratracs and putting a leveling kit on as well. What kit did you buy and overall what are your thoughts on it?

Can confirm on issues with Duratracs. I work as a Chrysler dodge jeep ram tech and the Ram 1500 rebels come from the factory with these and we see lots of complaints after about 20-30k miles about vibrations and the tires are always terribly cupped on the center of the tread. That being said I bet those people don't do a rotate every oil change so that could be the root cause.

My truck came with Duratracs and I had to replace 2 + 2 later so I kept em - reviews etc seemed okay, wet traction at 10K miles is still decent, though I will replace them if this changes greatly cause it rains alot where I live..

DiscountTire guy warned me about the cupping potential but said it was mostly from people not keeping the tire at the correct pressure and not rotating them - so it tracks with @AJKlug1

He also said they were good tires if you kept up with the /maintenance/aspect of them [eg. rotate/maintain pressure] - which I'm okay with

I havent had that truck in a long time.

I liked the size of the leveling kit F 2 1-4" R 0, but it had a rake to the front, so 2 and 1 is ideal. It was ready lift. Not sure I'd level with pucks again, but I only had the ECGS bushing issue that most people have with it.

The duratracs were amazing offroad, but they shit the bed in cold rain or snow, but I liked how aggressive they looked. I considered them again but they rarely go on sale here.

Yeah after seeing what everyone else says about this I think I’ll go with a different tire. Either the Wrangler Ultraterrain or even Ridge Grapplers.

I did go ahead and order Bilstein 5100s for mine so I can do a 2” front and 1” rear. Next is to decide if I want to size up to 285s…

I'm no expert, only have my 1 Taco and what I've learned here, but to the OPs question and I'm guessing how this got bumped, what does "biggest" mean? If you're talking width I can't say, but my 255/75/17 are 32" tall and didnt rub stock.

Edit: I have 5100s on the first notch and stock rear still. Seeing what you're planning I'd guess 255/80s would be fine

I had duratracs in the past. Last set on this truck and my previous jeep. Great tire but damn they get loud when they start to get low. I switched to the nittos. There about the same weight they have a great side profile witch is something I really wanted. So for about 10k on them and they are great 6B14689A-576B-42CB-A886-38AF581DD9EB.jpgF084407F-ADA5-4076-BA18-6087EA657BE7.jpg
