Not so much nitpicking, more of the fact that most of us have done what your doing and after 20,000 miles the stuff breaks. Granted is 88$ but if it breaks in the wrong spot aggravation gets costly. So really I’m sorry you feel that way and I’m not hating on your lift options at all, I just care enough to say “you get what you pay for”.

Spacers on your top plate put more pressure on your geometry, pressure over time always wins.

Spacers on your leafs without the correct bump stops break leaf springs.

I’m at work I’ll break down the actual design of spacer lifts when this afternoon

Alright, kiddo. There’s no need for being butthurt. Answers for the following.

I can’t say I read much on the internet. Most of these tech things make the human race more dumb.

Yes if you move your blocks around in the rear, your bump stops stay where they should be. And there are other factors at play due to the geometry of the vehicle. Even axle wrap is in your wheel house.

    Hands on experience as follows.

Off-road hours per month are 15-25 depending on how often we get date night.

    I’ve owned 3 Tacoma’s

02-reg cab. I went through 2 sets on spacer lifts before putting billsteins and leaf packs on it.

08- ext cab I blew out a rough country spacer lift in the first week I had it. Warranty claim stated that there was a problem with the steel used in the molds.
I ended up with billsteins and an add a leaf at the end.

17- dc went straight to billsteins/887’s and Dakars because I had learned my lesson about cheap lifts.

I’ve done everybit of wrenching myself from my first car all the way to the new supercharged big block I’m just about to install in my boat. I really did mean it when I said I care. Tacomaworld is a rediculous and hilarious place, but with that included you get a wealth of knowledge because we just don’t want to see you on this site in 4 months saying “I’m fucked what do I do?” So don’t take it so personal, we’re all friends here.

Every spacer lift should come with a windshield banner that says "I’m poor"

    Story time.

I was once a member of a very popular car audio forum. Having grown up as a musician, with a dad that's a bit of an audiophile, and installing audio equipment since I was in my early teenage years, I had developed a good sense of what good quality electronics and great audio is. When I got my 2nd car, I chose some components that were very highly-regarded in the forums. Once I got the equipment, I quickly realized it wasn't horrible, but it surely wasn't what people in the forums made it out to be. It was subpar. I later pulled the thread and found some prominent people in the forums (with thousands of posts and "respected" status under their username) had been influencing the rest of the forum opinion, like some kind of mass delusion. Sound is "subjective", so people really thought that equipment had to be amazing because some cool, famous user told them it was. If it sounded like shit it wasn't the equipment--they were just "doing it wrong".

What I am trying to say is take everything you read in forums with a grain of salt.

Was this a failure to modify bump-stop? Or did someone think they had a trophy truck and try to jump their rig?

Also I think it’s important for people understand the limits of the modifications they make. Do I think strut spacers are going to have the same performance as an aftermarket coil-over? Hell no, but it goes the same with aftermarket coil-overs. A $6000 King 3.0 system performance is going to overshadow a Bilstien 6112 system in many applications. But am I going to be using my vehicle in a way that’s going to even come close to needing a $6000 set up?

I’m sure that happened while the truck was just driving down the street...

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with spacers and blocks for people who want a lifted truck and don’t plan to do much rough off-road driving.

Is the "Tuff Country" banner close enough?
