I just realized I have not looked under the hood ever in the 2 months I ave had the truck.......LOL

I guess I have no reason to at this point. I know there is an engine, But I don;t know if the previous owner did anything under there,,,,,,,re air kits...I;;ll hav e to check ...Looking at the truck and the records i think it was a boomer who owned the truck and unlikely to br messing with the performance

    neglect, mostly.
not to be a jackass, but "i have no reason to . . ." and "i dont know if the previous owner did anything. . ." back to back contradicts itself. pop that taco's cherry and make sure your fluids are right at least man.

ive driven cars with mis firing sparks plugs, dead O2 sensors. . . hell even one with a shot piston with no lights on the dash. there are douche bags out there that will just take that bulb out behind the dash to fuck somebody's day/year up to get rid of a ride.

    . . . . .or were you just being sarcastic:confused:

I can understand that, there are many people that never open the hood, I even know some highly educated people that don't know how to open the hood, I even know a guy that can't open his hood to fill up his window washer and he fills the washer fluid up in a kids squirt gun and shoots it out the open drivers window to hit the windshield.

Yesterday is two weeks since I brought the truck home, new from the dealership...and I haven't opened the hood yet, but probably will today. I need to pull it into the shop bay anyhow to see how the new 17" with 1/4 spacers will fit.

Spent the last two days working on one of our OTHER 4x4, a 62 M37 Military Power Wagon, and the wife stopped at a church youth group car wash and had the kids get 50 lbs of mud off her Jeep Sahara.

I did order a case of oil filters, the NAPA branded Wix 51348, or the NAPA 1348, since they fit both the Jeep and the Tacoma. Love my local NAPA store...throw an oddball filter on the counter, fitting or part and they find one for you...

I only put 800 miles on it and the oil was just done at the dealership before I bought it. Nothing really to see until I need to see it I guess,

Its not something I think about if everything is working fine and I am not getting any CELS or lights. I went 8 months with a new Honda and never popped the hood. The thought of wrenching gives me a sick feeling. I HATE working on auto mechanics. The days of replacing ECMS, Dual point distributors, fuel pumps on the side of the road in 62 Falcons and 4 BBL carbs on Thinderbirds in Pep Boys parking lots are long gone for this guy. I even despise oil changes.

I leave a lot to the pros. (Oil changes I will do out of warranty otherwise I want the dealer records of service.)

IF I cannot fix it with my trusty Wal Mart socket set. I 'll pay my neighbor who was a 30 year retired ASE mechanic who has sockets as big as restaurant soup cans or take it to another mechanic we know. I dropped an old car there once for someone and said fix anything and everything. HE came back with "you need brakes in about 5000 miles thank you no charge....With people like that why should I mess with it?

LOL Some people like messing around with their nuts and bolts. Its a hobby.
When I got my bike I put pipes , EFI ECM, Airkit, bags and I stripped out a star bolt for the cobra lamp mounts... 6 hours of heat guns drilling etc to to remove the bad bolt....UGH

Invariably when I start a "project" I am missing a key tool and have to run to find it...

Recoding Music is my hobby and pt time business. I pay pros to do things. I do only the easy stuff....I would not ask a mechanic to do my gig.. I shouldn't be doing his.

Some mods I will do...Like sticking on vent visors..LOL and non cutting electrical mods. Oh and I did change the cabin filters on the RAV....
