so a buddy of mine is offering me an extremely good deal on his 2 mtx 15's and alpine monoblock amp, all i'll need is a box, but my question is, do guys think they'd fit in the back seat of my taco with both seats slid all the way back? and if they would fit would i have enough airspace in the box i build? i drive a 2003 extended cab by the way

you could probably make a box to accomodate the correct airspace but you will most likely lose both back seats, for sure one

i dont have either seat with my 2 10's so thats not a big deal, but i'm 6'1 so i need my seat slid all the way back to drive comfortably, thats my main concern, here is my current set up
but now i have jensen 6x9s instead of sony, its like this on the other side as well,

and i'm thinking of fabbing up something like this, with a few custom modifications to fit my storage needs

I would think you can get them to fit with the seat back. Just a matter of building the box right for them and the space you have. Put the seat in the position that you drive in and measure your space available. That will give you the best indication on how well they will work for you compared to their specs.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Hope you have a way to anchor them down. Got forbid you get in a accident and the energy from the box crushes you to the steering wheel.

Out of the few hundred stereo builds I've seen, the majority of access cab people do not mount their systems down at all.

And that scares the SHIT out of me. I've flipped a car where an Orion HCCA 15 (60lb sub) flew out of the car and it was mounted down with steel brackets. If that would of hit me in the head, I'd be dead.

I've never understood why Access Cab people don't mount their sub boxes.

Yep that is the reason I ditched my 12W7's in favor of my 13TW5's. Granted my new box is only 4" deep but I tore out all the rear seats, paneling and removed the bed and bolted it down from the back. Its a pain but it's safe. Screws alone just can't cut it.
