2 Ohm components with stock Entune

Anyone know if the stock Entune HU can handle a 2 Ohm load on the front channels? The factory tweeter and woofer are wired in parallel and I can't come up with a way to measure the circuit without yanking the HU and finding the pins in the harness. Thx.

 

Not sure what year and model Tacoma you have but, my best guess based on following car audio for the last 15 years, it is likely not capable of that. I'm not even sure i've seen an aftermarket head unit, which generally push out more power RMS, that is 2-ohm stable.

 

It's a 2017 TRDSPDC. I'm looking at components that are either 2 Ohms or 2.7 Ohms, and I don't want to push my luck with the stock HU. I was going to do this in stages and see if I can live with the stock HU and new speakers, but I think I'm just prolonging the inevitable Thanks for the feedback. Any thoughts regarding 6x9 components vs 6.5 components in the front? If I go 6.5, there are tons more options.

 

do not go with a 2 ohm speaker. there are manufactures now that are coming out with 6x9s being that this is becoming more common. focal, alpine and pioneer to name a couple.

 

Go with 6.5" or 6.75" components if you find something you like. I put Kicker 6.75" QSS674 components in my front door. They're very clean and the tweeter isn't harsh like my Infinity components in my other car.

You can keep the stock head unit and go with a cheap tiny amplifier. I got the Kenwood KAC-M3004 amplifier (150 watts x 2 channels bridged) for ~$70 off Jet.com when they were running a coupon code promo to power my comps in my other car. That could be an option for you to run your comps. The
